When I want to drive it precisely I use DC II but sometimes when I drive it like a mad man I actually use Comfort haha to make it feel like a boat. It feels like a muscle car in comfort and WOT, I like how the front lifts ever so slightly.

On rough or hardened snow road season up here, I'll do comfort mode (daily car for me). Add in some slippery drift fun if you peg it slightly but I must say with PROPER tires in snow plus this elephants weight, it's not that terrible.
Like someone said with harsh roads condition in S1 or S2 mode, lowered like me, I feel it's extra stress on the airmatic & suspension components so I keep that in mind.
For all the headaches with airmatic, this little perk and a press of a button is cool when the system is good to go.
And for the track, a soft suspension in the rear is what you would need for the hammer launch.

I'm lowered with links and I leave it in Sport I almost all the time. I only raise it when I need a lot of clearance And switch to Comfort when I'm on road trips.

As Heissrod implied, raising it always brings it to max height, no matter where you started out. I have actually measured it, and it is true.
With the car stationary, I have not measured a height difference between S1 and S2. I do not know what happens when the car is moving though.

That's because links are a mechanical lower method. You still get the same raise "amount" over your current level.

Having lived in a rural mining town for the majority of the time that I have owned my E55 I have become accustomed to driving in S1 as the car controls SO MUCH better when overtaking road trains on the open road. It just pulls straight back into the lane, nice and straight and well behaved whereas in comfort mode there is no where near the tightness. The only times I go comfort is around town on rough roads.

Ever since the OEM rear bags were replaced with new arnotts the ride appears to be equally sporty from C-S2. Previously, C felt softer. Because the arnott rears eliminate the air reservoirs?

I have Arnotts all round and although they do stiffen the suspension there is still a difference between modes. Maybe not as pronounced anymore though? The fronts went in a year ago and didn't seem to affect the suspension modes and we put the rears in only a few months ago. She's off the road for a motor rebuild at the moment and seizing the chance to replace all front control arms, tie rods, ball joints etc so will be interesting to see how she feels when back on the road...

Damn that's a sexy *****. I love the wheels!
Just wondering what airmatic setting you guys drive in?
I drive in Raised Up mode all the time. Comfort setting.
My car is star lowered so when raised up, its up but, not as high as it could be.
Ive been doing this for awhile now, I feel using your car often, not letting the car sit for long periods of time is not only good for the motor and lubricated parts of the car. I like to think it helps mantain the airmatic also. Kinda like giving it exercise so things don't freeze up and become dried out etc etc.
Any thoughts?

The car automatically goes into sport 2 when you mash the gas pedal past 75 80 mph or so. I only use sport 1 or 2 when I want to try and bend some corners a little.
