New addition to me E55!

More cargo capacity! Having taken numerous trips in the vehicle I decided that I need more capacity. My daughter likes to bring the entire house with her. No we have more space to accommodate this desire.

I would have preferred a black container, but the only way that is available is if you get the large container.

With the size of our trunks, you had to add a cargo container?! Geez.

You act like the trunk is huge, lol. I have a difficult time fitting my goalie (ice hockey) bag in there. It barely fits. Wish our seats folded down too.

The trunk is not that big. You figure beach supplies, golf clubs, coolers, luggage for 3. Room runs out quickly. The price was not too bad, but I do work at the dealership.

E55 AMG
Completely agree- I have 2 daughters and a wife and without a roof top carrier... we would have to rent a suburban! it isn't about a lack of space... it's about an over abundance of stuff! (while trying not to pack in the cabin- cause that just sucks!)

Fortunately we use the wife's V70 wagon with the roof top carrier. I am scared to see what kind of MPG you get with that at 80-85 :-)

I did not buy the 55 for fuel economy, and the wife also has a 211. It can go on either vehicle. So, it made more sense to get this than to purchase a larger vehicle to accommodate the over abundance of stuff they want to bring.

They would just find more stuff to bring. This would cause the same problem. They are females....need I say more?

That must be it. I have 3 boys and haven't had a problem yet with trunk space. Of course, if we go somewhere like camping or the such, we just take the Jeep.

However, I feel a small story should be told here.....Last summer, we took the Jeep on a 4-day camping trip to a place about an hour away. This was a trip with the wife's family. On Saturday, we left the kids up there with the in-laws to attend a wedding back in town. We drove home, changed, went to the wedding, back home to change, then headed back to the campground. About 5 miles away from home, we developed a coolant leak, so we had to turn around and bring the Benz back to the campsite. When we packed up to go home, everything fit back in the trunk except for a pedestal fan and 1 Rubbermaid container, which the in-laws took home for us. On the way there, the hatch of the Jeep was full to the roof. In my opinion, the trunk of our cars is not too small.....maybe you just pack too much crap.

Nice carrier!

I'm the type that travels two weeks with one carryon. But I can understand that sometimes the ladies aren't light travelers!

I like the look, it's perfectly civilized. There's an S550 that I've seen a few times with a bike rack on top. I was mildly amused. And a friend told me that they have an eccentric neighbor with an old 1980s Rolls Royce that has a surf board tied onto the roof at times.

Thank you! The MB carriers have form, and function. I am not a huge fan of it, but it is out of necessity for additional cargo capacity.
