2005 E55 aux not working
Hey guys
Just picked up my 2005 E55. Came with factory navigation, keyless go, aux/iPod cable. I can't seem to get audio to play through the aux port however. The aux function is selected in the navigation unit. The cord is verified working. Anyone else had this problem? What's the fix?

Mine works depending on how the cable is "turned". If I bump it, or rotate the plug a bit, it'll static out. Annoying to say the least. I'll have to try a new cable, even though this one was brand new.

Mine is in the glove box. A good cable and making sure you aren't sending too much volume into the headunit will make the audio sound much better.

If you have factory IPOD then you don't have access to the AUX port. The IPOD interface plugs into the back of the head unit where the AUX would normally plug into. You get one or the other but not both.

That's what I was afraid of. I can't use the factory iPod cable because I only have apple products with the lightning cable..not the 30 pin like it's set up for. What's the best solution to this? I have seen guys run 30 pin to bluetooth adapters....

So the solution will be to take out the headunit, unplug the iPod integration and replug the aux integration? Or is there a way to do something similar without removing the COMAND headunit (not Bluetooth, I have that and its ok, I like my E60's aux input sounds much better)

Disconnect, reconnect, re-check connections, power up again (reboot).
Otherwise, it's internal.

Try doing a search for a 30 pin to lighting cable. I think Walmart has one for $22. Or buy an older version, Apple has refurb 4th gen ipod touch for $159, 5th gen was the lighting connector, 4th gen 30 pin. Cowboom (a best buy company) sells used stuff like their 4th gen ipod touch is $59.
