This is 100% true. They are RUBBISH cars. They are HORRIBLE. They run like ****, interior is TURD and they're very blue collar, very.....rednecky (no offense to rednecks). I do love their presence and size though. They're INTIMIDATING. I wouldn't ever own one because they're not rare, which for me is a no-no for a car and they're ****. Rarity is probably the thing that prevents me from getting one the most. I like that we have so little AMGs here. C63s are quite common but other AMGs aren't.
Which one did you own by the way, the Commodore or the HSV because the rear is different, they have completely different taillights design and position. The Commodore looks **** but the HSV's taillights are very sexy.

This is the lump of poo I owned for 2 unremarkable months.

Ahh I see. That's the Commodore Sport. Not the HSV. The HSV is still **** when it comes to driving and interior but the outside is quite different to the Commodore. WAY more aggressive and the whole rear is different. The taillights are completely different. It's slightly wider, it's fenders are even more flared than the normal one which are already flared.
Not gonna lie, it looks like SEX from the outside, it's a really sexy design but it's a piece of trash car and it's just not prestigious or luxurious. It's not a Merc. I don't mean to sound snobby but I would never drive one because I feel like it's beneath me.

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum but I will ask anyway.... I have a 2002 CLK55 AMG cab and on the right rear trunk it says AMG Black Series. I have not been able to find any reference to a Black Series CLk55 for 2002. Did the previous owner just stick on that trim bit, or were there Black series CLK55's produced in 2002. If so, what's the difference between the BS 2002 and the regular CLK55 AMG? Thanks!

+1. Never heard of a CLK55 Black series although MB did make the awesome CLK DTM. The Black series was only introduced with the CLK63. I reckon someone bought a badge on ebay and slapped it on.

Bogus black series badging?
Thanks for the replies concerning the questionable badging on my CLK 55. I've attached some photos, and seek comments on the "Special Edition" badge on the glove box. I'm a newish owner so perhaps this is a silly question - are all AMG's "special editions"? Again thanks for the input from this awesome forum website!

Your dashboard badge is also placed there by the previous owner.
Badges are for sale everywhere: http://www.yourbadges.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=63

badging - wonder why?
I'll close off this discussion on the bogus "Black Series" badging with the rhetorical question of "I wonder why anyone would go to the trouble?"
It certainly makes no difference to me, and didn't influence my decision to buy the car (I bought it from an MB dealership; perhaps they should have spotted this...?). Lovely car regardless. Thanks again everyone - and next time I'll be careful to pose questions in the W208 forum - oops...

Some people do it to oversell their car. Check this one on my local craigslist

I've contacted him once to explain that what he's selling is not a CLS55. That has not kept him from keeping it for sale as such for months now.

HAHAHAHA @ the black series badge. Poser much? I mean if there was a BS badge on a non-BS CLK63 maybe it's close but with this OMG just sad.
PS: That is the WORST signature I've ever seen on a plaque before. It's just scribble LOL.

I would probably remove both badges and go stealth after all no-one likes a showoff...
