The 84 sc clutch pulley will never make as much hp/tw as a 180 crank pulley

60 plus rwhp with tune. What do the 180 crank pulleys do with tune again?

The hp and especially tq made with a 180 pulley will never be made with a 84mm sc pulley. Go ask any tuner or even go to eurocharged website, I think there's numbers for both.

I have seen it on the dyno also with a car that had a smaller sc pulley and then a 180 crank would come on and make more power.

The 77mm fsp is about the equivalent of the 180 crank

I don't understand why there would be a difference,, if the SC spins at the same rate why would TQ be different if everything else was equal ?? -- thx

An 84mm sc pulley doesn't spin at the same rate as a 180 crank pulley

In most cases the 84mm clutched pulley produces 45 rwhp. Not too many get 60 at the wheels. It's a baby pulley. Size wise it really equall to a 166 sc rpm wise. You can take a car that already has a tune and install an 84mm clutched and only expect to gain 20-25 at the wheels. It's been done and disappointed more than a few.

yes i understand that,, my question/misunderstanding is why a 77mm pulley and a 180 crank pulley would not produce the same amount of TQ because the SC would spin at the same rate given everything else the same ?

I don't think that was ever said of the 77mm.

We really need a tuner to develop that FSP tune further.
I like the idea to make it as some sort of "Group buy/community funding".

I was wondering do the cars with the Weistec superchager have this same issue?

Problem is both tuners offering this HAVE done so with their respective "shop" cars and for years now their "shop" cars have had NO problems. This is why both decided to release the software for this. EC even pulled back on the FSP and no longer offered it for almost a year, then re-offered it at a later date.

Unless we have someone with a problem drop their car off to BIP for a few weeks to fix the issues for real, your idea won't work. Note I didn't say EC because EC basically had that with one member one here and so far has been unable to solve the issues however spent countless hours trying

Again it's a custom tune scenario at this point. My cars been ok for over 3000 miles at this point. Temps below freezing, Temps over 80, cold starts, hot starts, no shifting issues, hiccups. Although as I stated before I had every symptom with different versions of the tune before getting a custom one built by Jerry.

I'd say for anyone wanting to run the FSP with more mods then just cooling and FSP you will likely need a custom tune at this point of time. I'm not sure why everyone else besides the OP keeps going on with this speculations on the issues and hoping for a box tune. Work with a tuner and be willing to pay a premium for a custom tune, and they can and will work. Multiple people are running them without issues with custom tunes.

Kponti, how can you can say that the tuners have cars running for years with the fsp when it's not even 2 years it's been out??

OP had a custom tune.....he just put his FSP up for sale. I am on my 4th tune after sending datalogs, still have issue. I would be at BIP tomorrow and pay whatever for a custom tune if they weren't over 12 hours drive for me. One other guy had a custom tune from Eurocharged , he also STILL has some issues after quite a while of tuning.

Also your statement "custom tune scenario..." is no different than if I said "Anyone with problems with the FSP should change out their fuel tank, pumps and sending units, that will solve all their problems" (note: I know I have kind of insinuated that, but I will be the first to say I am not sure this holds any merit, however I do know that a fuel additive completely alleviated my symptoms)

Ok I exaggerated, I thought it came out in 2012 but I rechecked and it was 2013

UPDATE:
I will no longer really post updates here, I will start a new thread to post my experiences once I get some miles on and tunes redone....ie chronicle my experiences with the FSP

So I picked up my car from the dealer yesterday after having the fuel tank, fuel pumps, sending units replaced. I also had the fuel pressure regulator replaced (fuel damper, whatever else its called).

When I picked up the car, it was already in limp mode. Now the car has been sitting since Tuesday when I got the call that it was ready. So this was a cold start issue.
I was starting to accept that fuel had nothing to do with this FSP issues. But I couldn't pull over to reset ecu and restart the car so I pressed on.
However In less than a mile the car was basically correcting itself and the lean condition was all but gone..... Ok weird
I did eventually pull over and reset ecu as well as restart car. I proceeded to put on 15-20 miles between last night and this morning. No hiccups either, but I will say its a bit too early to make any finalized speculations about hiccups.

This morning I started the car with no delay....No cold start problems today....

Ok so far so good. I am however waiting for a lot more cold start attempts as well as more miles on the freeway at steady speed then suddenly increase speed (usually causes the hiccups) before making any final judgments. But so far so good!

Looking forward to the thread. I'm going to bite the bullet, and get mine ordered today. The 83mm fixed pulley will be my only performance mod, but I do have 550cc injectors. My only issue is that I won't be able to log wideband data, so hopefully they'll be able to extract data from whatever I can log, or maybe I won't have any issues at all? (A man can hope...)

Uraberg I suggest getting a bluetooth OBDII interface and the Torque app for Android if you have not already. If you do not have Android there is one for iPhone but I forget the name of it. This will not give you live readings but they update every few seconds and it's better than nothing.I will be doing the 83mm FSP soon as well.

Also Kponti I looked and could not find your new thread. But I'm guessing since you posted only about an hour and a half ago I'm being an overzealous *******. Carry on

I use ScanXL, on a laptop, hardwired to the OBD plug. I had bluetooth in the past, and wasn't very happy with the refresh rate.

Lol hold on. I will make that thread after I have some miles on this thing, I barely broke 20 miles between yesterday and today. I also have had only one cold start occasion to test. By this weekend, I will a lot more cold start chances and hiccup chances to test out. I can then start my chronicle in a new thread
