3.45 sec 0-60 New tires grip better than Pilot Super Sports
Ok well my new Pilot Super sports are were just replaced due to excessive wear and some steel belts showing through on all four corners at 7K miles
Been doing some research for a last couple months and decided on Toyo Proxes RA1s. Very limited on their sizes but they do have a 275/35/18 for the rears. I went with new PSS for the fronts again.
They are an R compound tire with a 100 tread wear rating. A lot of other owners seem to get the same kind of mileage on these as other summer tires. time will tell. These are no drag radials they are autocross tires. Deep tread (8/32) and fine in the rain. Very quiet tires and handle great. Every one seems to say they grip as well when corded as when new which is pretty impressive.
At any rate took them for some 0-60 runs last couple nights and was pretty impressed. Best I ever did with PSS was 3.60 in 55 degree temps. Consistent between 3.7-3.9s (V-Box no rollout). Well last night I ran a 3.70, 3.89 and a 3.45 I am certain there is more in them. The 3.45 tires weren't even that warm. Ambient was 58 degrees too which should hurt their grip. I need to try some runs with a real burnout first and see what she does. Thinking a 3.2-3.3 would be possible.
FYI I run from the same exact spot start right at a sign. Totally flat, well actually Vbox says it is 15 feet uphill but you sure cant see it.
Only complaint so far is they rub pretty bad in really aggressive driving on tight turns. Only rubs when turning right since my added weight is on that side. Even in comfort setting it rubs. Tires seem to run wider than the PSS more than 10 MM should. I do have CLS rims which are 9.5 inches and different offset. I bet regular rims wouldnt rub at all.
I wouldn't recommend getting the R888s While its a much newer R compound tire from Toyo they are very noisy and lose grip fast with wear. Supposed to grip amazing but only for a very short window.

Damn man, you ran through a set of PSS in 7k miles? Turn on your traction control once in while. I have these on a 997 and my old E46 and have gotten plenty onf mileage out of them.

sorry those are 275/35/18 speedo is only off by half a MPH.
Have never had a set of tires last more than 7K miles on this car. Drive some hard mountain roads daily and very spirited. I never even do burnouts.

You should try the 500 treadwear tires I have on mine. They don't wear. They don't grip - but they don't wear.
Rock hard.

I figured that was a typo, would look like a 4x4 in the back with that size. I've been running 275/35 in the back for the last 2 sets as well.
Like dllhg, I've never had a set last more than 7-8k miles either. I drive hard, but ESP is almost always on & no burnouts... I do make use of the LSD for getting her sideways sometimes though so maybe that's the problem.
My last pair were Nitto Invo's.

well after having these on for about 500 miles of very spirited driving I can officially say they kick *** ! Last 8 runs all ranged from 3.56-3.68 with a lot of 3.5x. Super consistent. Personally I am impressed we can get these heavy sleds with RWD to go this fast with relatively narrow tires. Previous Gen Z06 were in that range with like 315s out back and a hell of a lot better suspension for going in straight line. Can only imagine what my car could pull with 315s. More importantly is they are also fantastic on super twisty roads. also got to drive them in the rain aggressively. VERY solid in the rain. Same as my PSS as far as I could tell.
