Back on point, the reality is that guys like me need guys like the OP mentioned. Before I can save bank AND have the privilege of owning and driving such an amazing automobile, somebody far less frugal than me has drive it off the show room floor and take a bath on it a few years later (bit of a run on sentence there, eh?). I'd say keep it , driving a 9yr old car means nothing some cars get better with age , Our cars have safety fixtures that some cars are just getting , yeah electronics out of date yeah ,, but one thing we know no computer hacker can take over my car through wifi ,, The older the car gets the newer it becomes in way ,,, U hardly see your car on the road anymore , everybody turns and looks , people constantly ask what year is it and it looks new, u got more power than 90% of all cars on the road 10 & 11 second quarter miles ,, sleepy looks, not the neon light look of obvious speed machine , like mustangs, camero's , challangers SRT8's .. police following u all day.. And I'll wait till the v's or AMG's or Hellcat , GT 350 & 500, ZL1 or ZO6 ,stringray depreciates down to what I want to pay for it in a couple years ,, after the original owner takes a bath in depreciation... True car guys don't care about the year of their cars...or what they are worth. They enjoy them for what they are and what they can do. Guys that worry about their image and point their boney fingers and laugh...make me laugh.

mans car. Not saying anyone that drives a BMW is a punk ( hell, I've had one myself) but you rarely see rich kids named Hunter or Chase have daddy buy them a AMG , it's most likely going to be a "Bimmer".
I am always getting compliments on my E55 and the few people who do ask what year it is, are always surprised it's about ten years old cause they say it looks new.
For me, I drive a car thats faster than 99% of cars on the road, yet is also a big comfy Mercedes and classy as well. Sure the technology is a little old, but I buy my cars on how they ride and drive...not because of the tech features.
I'm also cheap- I hate spending more than $20k for a car...ANY car, so have no problem driving something a little older. I take care of my cars, and they always turn heads. Even our last W211, my husband's 05 E320 that we traded in last month, had over 200k miles on it and still looked great and turned heads everywhere.
With these W211 AMGs, they are very special cars regardless how old they become, and always will be.

It should be obvious: names like "Hunter" or "Chase" do not evoke imagery of being a front-runner.... so it is only natural that they choose something like a BMW that isn't too fast or scary.
Most of people even think W210 E55 looks outdated, I sold mine last August with regret and bought one 3 weeks ago... I just like the way the W210... Maybe I am just old fashion. Of course, don't wanna pay $1K per month for new E63S or M5...
You should have just walked away from a retard like that. What a snob. That makes the E55 even better value. The interior is NOT dated at all. Not one bit. The interior is perfect and is better to me than ANY BMW including the new F10 M5. I find BMW and Audi interiors depressing and cold and clinical.
The exterior has also aged very well. The E55 look is dated I admit but the E63 W211 is not. Mercedes didn't do the car any favors when they chose the dimensions, it does look small and anorexic compared to new model however when facelifted it's simply NOT dated. It just isn't. To think this is a car from 2002, 13 years ago and still doesn't look dated with the right cosmetic mods ie the facelift is just incredible. What other car can say that? Very few, mostly exotics!!
This guy is not worth your time though. Let him have his expensive M5. I bet he's never revved it past 5k rpm. He's just a posing snob. He should have bought a 550i and stuck M5 badges on it like every other posing snob.

They are one of the truly classic Mercedes vehicles. Memorable and timeless shape, racing heritage, renowned motor / motor builder and a story to tell. Classic battle in the eighties of the M3 vs 190E Cosworth while Mercedes execs almost inadvertently halt its production.

I would agree to some extent… Wealth in many parts of top teir asian countries is nothing new…. If you ever been to Seoul Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, HK, Shanghai etc. AMG's and Mercs are driven by the privileged kids. A lot in fact.. You will see new C63's CLS63 biturbos etc, all over the place and more.
They often have to pay double the price for the same car you can buy in the states. Try to imagine how much harder it is to obtain new AMG's in foreign countries. But, that doesn't slow them down.
My last visit to Seoul was a lot of fun. C63 and M3 were all over the place. I seen brand new S63's, Bentley's, SLS's, S8's, lambo clubs, Ferrari clubs, dude parking his Pagani Zonda, 458's in front of starbucks. If it was new and hot you would see it on the road.
