Auxiliary heat exchangers
I picked up two stock heater cores on ebay for about $25 each in order to mount them in line with the factory HE. After taking volume measurements, the factory HE + 2 heater cores ends up holding amount more than the largest HE on the market, not including the added volume in the additional hoses.
Unfortunately one of the heater cores I bought didn't have proper inlet and outlets so I was only able to install one of them today but it already made a huge difference in recovery time and air temps while cruising dropped by about 10* F.
Total cost from the two heater cores and extra hose is about $65 and took maybe 1 hr to reroute the hoses and get everything installed.
I hope this is helpful for someone out there,
Cheers guys
, it was like that when I got the car 2 months ago and I just figured thats how its supposed to be lol. These heater cores have the same tubing diameter and the stock system and just required a little cutting to get the tubes down to the right sizes. I'll post pictures later on when I get the second cooler installed and a new fixed pulley

+1 on the bearing though. The cover on mine came off like that on the stock pulley and a lot of the ***** flew out during a 2k mile road trip.

As far the HE its 8.5x8.5x1.25 inches without the pipe fittings. One issue Ive encountered now, though, is the electric fan is working harder now and having to spin a lot faster to cool the engine... The up side of it running harder is that the engine coolant temps have dropped slightly at all driving situations. The downside is there is more noise in the form of air moving when parking or at low speeds. I'm not sure what I'm going to do to address this but it may involve moving the auxiliary HE.
As far as Distronic... I'm not sure, I have a cls55 so that may be it but I dont think its equipped with distronic.
Hope I answered your questions.

With regard to the fan, I'm running the 10c fan mod so I've gotten quite used to how loud it gets when it's warm outside. Although it sounds like a damn wind tunnel sometimes tbh.
Last question for ya. I couldn't see from the pictures but how are you securing the heater core?

I installed a new pulley tonight and while I was in there I noticed one of the lines was kinked so I fixed that. After doing so I no longer have the fan running on hurricane mode so I'm guessing that was the problem but I'll have to wait and see tomorrow when I drive it mid-day.
I will now be adding one more HE in the same circuit and will be mounting it in front of the factory HE. I'll update with more pics when that happens.
These things have held up to having the 77mm daily driving in FL summer btw.
No split cooling. Do it if it makes you feel good but from an engineering perspective it is not necessary. The connection is a fill point but the different circuits are not mixing while the car is running.
And the hose I used was goodyear heater hose from ebay.
