Needswings or FTP intake?

I just got my 82mm TB and getting the snout bored, im going for a full intake at this point plus they come with a Y-Pipe. Any experiences on either? The FTP Y-Pipe is more of a (Y) while the Needwings is more of a (T) I noticed. Any feedback would really help. TIA

What's the price on both? Remember a member has already proved that the stock Airbox works very well just in case you wanted to spend the $$ elsewhere

Look at my thread about going fast and look at Lowprofile's setup. Other factors were involved but he ran 10.5@132 or something like that with the stock airbox

What are your plans? Drag race, roll race or just enjoy the power?

S or SL intake tube on drivers side, stock boxes, 80mm Y, removed filters.

Whats stock boxes and whats 80mm Y and removed filters meaning NO AIR FILTERS at all and stock air filter boxes?

Little bit of everything actually, drag race here and there but mainly roll races and enjoying the power, im not building a drag queen but I do plan on buying a set of 16" CLK wheels w/ Hoosiers so I can take it to the strip. I already ordered 52lb injectors. After the TB, im pretty much done with it. I was possibly thinking looped fuel rails and eventually getting quiafe LSD. With my current mods though plus getting the the 82mm TB, do I really need the looped fuel rail or are the bigger injectors fine? BTW, with my current setup and on a tire, what should I realistically see 1/4 wise?

Yes he removed the air filters at the track. Make sure that you buy a passenger side intake tube and install it on the driver's side.
A ton of factors fo into achieving a good 1/4 et. If you can get it to stick, pull a 1.65 -60' and your ecu doesn't pull timing you could see a very good time.

Looped rail.....some say that you don't need it. I have it so its up to you but injectors yes will need to upgrade those.

I got my 82mm y-pipe from TTM. A good time would be low 11's or high 10's if the stars align. If your cooling is not in order your iat's could rise so high so fast that the ecu pulls timing to protect the engine. Have you split the cooling and have a separate cooling resevoir?

is TTM a company or a member on the forums? All I have for cooiling is Bigger intercooler and Johnson pump, I keep reading about split cooling, what is that? Is that the alum. reservoir that sits in the pass. side by the windshield along the hood shocks?

Do some reading on this forums before you order from FTP. Numerous people have been dissatisfied with their service.

Bruce @ TTM isn't exactly stellar to work with either

This/\/\/\.. I have the Needswing intake it's their "new" larger one that flows much better than the original.. I was the one that made them increase the size due to the air restriction of the previous model.. That one tapped out at around 492/495 whp.. I was getting a custom dyno tune from Jerry and I was making 550 whp and we pulled the filters and gained 18 whp on the next run, that's when I contacted them and they came up with a larger size.. It works Alot better than the original and the supercharger whine is much better.. Just my 02.. Also, go for the Quaiffe, Great mod...

I can't speak on anyone else's experience with Bruce other than my own. I have had nothing but great experiences with him. Contact him and tell him that I told you to call him and he will take care of you. Pm me if you want his number

to me its crazy to go to the trouble of making 800 dollar intakes and trying to sell them however perhaps just like years ago for the lightnings and cobra jlp made ram air kits that made little to no difference on the dyno yet picked up a few mile per hour and knocked off a couple tenths at the track. so if anyone did a before and after with ftp or needwings at the track chime in.

Again more aesthetic than anything else.
Just get a bigger snorkel for the drivers side from the S55 and you are good
