Aftermarket Air Filters VS OEM

Eventually I want to go with a custom intake but in the meantime I'm sticking with oem filters. I've been of the opinion that K&N and other "high flow" filters allow larger contaminant particles through and don't seem to make any difference powerwise to this platform. Or are they only going to make a difference when going larger throttle body?

Curious to know as well. I changed to k&n just out of habit but am not quite sure it makes a difference?

I heard that the K&Ns actually make a small but noticeable difference on these cars since they suck in so much air. The downside is that K&Ns also filter 35% less (either that or only filter 35% of what a normal filter would - I read in an article many years ago) and I would rather sacrifice a little power for better filtration.

Got Pipercross ones in mine. Was very surprised when I washed them how much **** they stopped getting into the motor. Wish I had taken a photo of the wash basin...

I held my K&N's up to the sun and went back to stock. I've seen what even a little dust does to a motor.
