I bought a direct replacement braille battery for the main, must have a received a dud as it died within a year. Have since bought a Duralast Gold and haven't had any issues. Both the BS14 and main AGM batteries are Duralast.

I personally like factory batteries. I'm Going on 8 years in the same battery on my s class. It sits every winter with a maintainer on it. I've seen aftermarket batteries leak and corrode cables or throw random charging warnings. Not saying factory batteries are perfect but you don't see production cars coming with diehards or duralasts. I'm sure there's a reason. Just my opinion.
Varta makes the batteries for Mercedes if you can find a supplier. It's the silver dynamic agm. http://www.varta-automotive.com/en-g...silver-dynamic

I'm going on 5 years on a DEKA (main battery) from AutoBarn.net. Great battery. Never a problem and the price was great. Plus, the total price, shipped to CA from NJ was $192, and only took 2 days! I'm sure prices have gone up, but that was a great customer experience.

Ive heard you can leave the IC pump running on batter power in the staging lanes and not have issues. Might want to check that out.

I wanted an AGM interstate, but couldn't get one for two weeks due to living in east nowhere, so I got the original from the dealer for a very reasonable $160.

Interstate makes the OEM Main batteries for Mercedes, and pretty much all Euro cars...so any place that carries Interstate made batteries would work, provided you get the correct size. I was told by a Mercedes Tech to get it at Sears since it's the exact same battery with different stickers. The AUX battery is pretty easy to find, but I had a coupon and got mine from the dealer. Varta is the OEM manufacturer for that one.

Here's the agm battery I was told was OEM manufactured by Interstate. Fortunately our cars don't need reprogramming after a battery is installed like some BMWs and my other Audi. Has Mercedes started requiring that on newer cars?
