interesting finds with my new cooling set up

so I know why I usually do not touch my car after the heat exchanger and underhood 2gallon tank install I found my intercooler temps all over the board. My bosh pump is flowing like crazy you can hear the water from the tank inside the car. I have the system routed the same way as my stock heat exchanger and 03 tank which proved to be a improvement. I can see as much as 50 deg over ambient cruising and its 46 out this am and temps here 57 to 62 deg. after stepping on it the temps rise fast and continue to rise after cruising instead of falling. Yet the water in the tank is cold. These items are good products just not for my application pm me for a good deal on both as im going back to stock.

so since this is driving me nuts I topped off ic tank it was not filled all the way up to top, 57 deg out act temps fell to about 82 deg sometimes 80 cruising, 3 wot blast went up to 125 deg and calmed down to 82 and 80 fairly quick this time. going to check act sensor via star and also flush actual intercooler perhaps its not flowing well. after hammering on car I check coolant in intercooler tank and it was 82 deg and act was 89deg at idle. Perhaps im totally thrown off my buddies 149,000 mile e55 non split car cruising at 71 deg act yesterday in 59-60 deg weather here. If any of you guys are in mine type of climate chime in with your act temps. as for now they are not that much better then stock heat exchanger and cobra tank

Are you running straight water ?i had to add antifreeze to my set up this year because of frigid temps ,when back to water 10 deg cooler,mine are 20 over ambient temps once warmed up,I have 2 coolers and trunk tank

no im running antifreeze maybe I will switch. I just did a generic flush of the intercooler to see if anything would come out. Refilled and started the car it was already warm its 68 out and the antifreeze in tank was 82deg and act was 89 at idle I let it run for about 20 mins at idle water in tank went to 93 and act was 99 sitting there at idle.

Thanks will do. I even thought act sensor may have been off or bad since temps were goofy. Last drive today seemed better

Do you have the system split from the engine coolant circuit? Honestly I don't think you will see much of a difference switching to water. I have anti-freeze in mine currently but ran straight water last summer. Going back to water for this summer so I can put ice in the tank at the strip, but with that said, I honestly didn't notice but may a 2-3 degree difference if any at all. FWIW I usually hover around 15F above ambient when cruising.
