Which color for my new E55 April build? Tectite or Silver?

I can't make up my mind...I have silver now which I really love, but thought a change would be nice. Does anybody have a nice hi-res pic of tectite? I value everyone's opinions on here and I need to decide soon. Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up Silver

I like silver best as it gives a nice contrast to the charcoal interior.

Doesn't bother me with too many silver cars around as the combo works best for me. Low maintence.

On the other hand, I may consider tectile if I can pick a nice light colour interior such as stone/beige.

i chose to go with the tectite grey because i felt it made the car look a little more aggressive than the lighter colored silver. it's also not too dark as to be difficult to maintain. the metallic paint is easy to take care of and the car almost appears black at night.

i also went with the charcoal/merlot interior because i felt it made the car a llittle more different than the non-AMG models.

I like silver but tectite looks great and I think the wheels stand out better with that color.

I'd go for the tectite as well. But keep in my resale value is going to be higher with the normal silver

just curious why are you getting another??? And, IMO if you liked silver, stick with it, but if you got sick of it, go with tectite...

You guys are the best on here. Thanks for all the input! I am as confused as ever. I know the new car will have the nano clear, which makes me feel more comfy with the darker color, but I am concerned with resale value as well. The silver that I have now is really a beautiful car, but the tectite has more shine because it is darker. Still undecided.....

My silver car was inventory for a brand new dealership. I only waited a few weeks for the car, but there are no options other than the CD changer....I need toys! So I ordered a loaded car...originally the order was silver, but I changed to tectite...the car is April build so I can still change the color.

BY FAR GO WITH TECTITE
it is one of the most beautiful color i believe mb offers. It looks emazing on the g500, incredible on the s500 and simply breath taking on an E55amg

I am going to attach this pic..I think it does the color more justice. It is not my car..but THANK YOU to the person who did post this pic, bc it is the reason I placed my order with Tectite.

Also a word on the pewter...I think it has too much of a brown hue for me to consider. If it was TRUELY in between tectite and silver, with only a gray tone..then I would be considering it, but it isnt.

Enjoy..

Good decision. You'll be getting a beautiful color and lots of toys. How good is that?!

On a percentage basis the difference in resale value between the silver and tectite isn't going to be more than 1%.

Would you consider NOT buying the E55 because it uses $1000 more gas over 4 years than an E320? That'll be the max difference in color/value.

I think you should get whichever color appeals to you the most.
The car's an extravagance to begin with.

TECTITE!!! It is much more aggressive than silver, and more unique since it seems like 7 out of 10 MB's are silver.

The tectite grey is the nicest color MB currently offers IMO and is the only close alternative to the W124 pearl black, THE best color MB EVER offered. See below for my biased opinion

t-bone. I will have to spec colors in about a month or so. I like yours. A question. Which is darker: the charcoal interior or the tectite exterior?

I had originally planned on black or obsidian. I felt then I would have to go with all charcoal interior but I like charcoal/merlot.

Hmm.... they are close in color, but I'd say the tectite exterior is a few shades darker. It all depends on the lighting too though. However, I don't think you can go wrong with the two-tone charcoal/merlot interior. The merlot is not too loud. And the merlot stitching on the charcoal leather is a really nice touch.

Thanks, t-bone. The car I test drove had charcoal on charcoal. I did not like hte wide stitching. Merlot stitching on charcoal must be fabulous. The blus stitching on the white RS6 interior looked good. But that is all I can say about its interior. I think I'll order Merlot/charcoal.

Now the outside color. If the interior was a light color --- fawn --- I would have gone for black. But how does a dark interior on a dark car look. Did you htink of graphite?
