If you guys see/find a well optioned E55 that's well maintained and has to be well kept by an older owner. Please let me know. I live in Southern California and would prefer something that has the active/ cooled seats.
Thanks
Sean.

If you're willing to take the risks then low ball to closer to 8G's! The majority will tell you to stay away with good reason, but if the salvage title, insurance fraud story, etc etc don't sway you away then have the seller knock the price way down, get a PPI, have seller include a warranty of some sort if hes that confident its as clean as he says.

Good luck! Not too many of these cars left in unmolested condition from my hunting as well

You can find good deals you just need to be patient. I ended up paying 11900 for mine. I am the third owner and the original owner leased it for less than a year. It has 109k miles and so far I've only had to do maintenance items.

Also it has a Clean title!

Walking away from a car is tough but it'll help your wallet in the long run. If you buy a poorly maintained e55 you'll feel it for a long time.

As stated above the only real way that E55 could be worth it is if you can get him to bight on a real low ball offer, of course if it checks out with a PPI.

Also like others have stated you just need to be patient and you'll find exactly what your looking for, especially considering your in in SoCal.

I looked for over 4 months here in SoCal and ended up finding an 04 E55, with 56k for 17K. Well equipped and single owner, clean car, no stories.

I also have a very close friend who picked up and 05 for 11.5k with 105k on it, single owner car with every bit of service record from day 1.

It really just comes down to being patient and persistent, I understand your sudden urge to get in a car sooner than later but in the long run waiting and finding the right one will pay off.

Think I just found it, I'm heading out to Arizona next week with the family so this could be the one if he hasn't sold it by then.
Comments? Advice?

I have owned at least one Mercedes for over 35 years, all S-Class vehicles. They are excellent cars and wonderful to drive. However, it is easier to diagnose and engine, transmission or suspension problem that an electronic problem.

I personally wouldn't purchase a car that has the potential of being an electronic nightmare because of water damage. Who knows whats lying beneath all those panels and covers waiting to make an entry.

Pull the data card and it will tell you every option on the car.
