Planning some upgrades due to accident
Hi guys,
My car had an argument with a truck re-tread tire at 80mph and needs some work. I'm planning on :
1) eurocharged heat exchanger
http://www.eurocharged.com/products/...changer-detail
2) W212 bumper
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...de-skirts.html
( still need to research if I need a new "main" grill or I can re-use my E55 one, and probably need fogs and the lower bumper grills. and how much hassle fitting that bumper will be , i.e. is it bolt up)
3) Starting to look and see if I should replace the oil cooler with a stock one or if there is an upgraded one, haven't seen one or the need for one yet.
4) Seriously considering the eurocharged super charger pulley upgrade and tune, I have stock fuel system and injectors, so debating on if its worth the "risk". -
http://www.eurocharged.com/products/...-pulley-detail
I would do the TCU tune at the same time.
( my stock pulley is fine, just thinking of doing it since the car is down anyway)
Any advice/thoughts would be welcome.
thanks,
Grant

Look into the sunveer front bumper kit. Comes with everything you need and is a lot cheaper (e55 section here)
Get the regular supercharger pulley upgrade and tune and not the fixed. Great reliable power with no issues. We offer engine warranties with our tuning products, so you are safe. TCU is always a good call, we can do a package deal for ya.

Am I reading this right? Are you planning on putting a w212 bumper on a w211
you know that won't work, right?

Once you do the supercharger pulley with tune you will have a huge issue! It's not enough issue. Yes I know you are happy with the power your car has now, but that pulley goes on and the hunger comes out of nowhere like a thirsty vampire awaken from a 1000 year slumber.
So my advice (after years of stock and doing a couple of minor stuff). Get the 77mm clutched pulley with scattershield. Get a larger HE like you are planning to, split your cooling system when installing the HE. Get a tune, either ecu or both ecu and tcu.
The beast will be contained for a lot longer this way. Your rear tires however..... Plan on making friends with your local tire shop cos it will weirdly start melting off for some reason.
Of after all this you still want to start tame, buy my 84mm clutched pulley for nearly half off and do the rest of the stuff mentioned above

Oh I have had the thirst for a decade, between a Ducati, Corvette z06, and now an e55 :-)
I'm doing the pulley, ecu, tcu, intercooler, and an e63 bumper and looked at the bigger injectors

I've been reading a fair bit on our injectors going static with additional boost. I realize its taking a chance, but trying to determine if I should be spending the $$$ on a fuel rail and injectors ( and assume I need another tune for the increased injector CC), or if with a large heat exchanger, cooling separation and the clutched S/C upgrade I'd be ok. I do a lot of quick acceleration on to the highway, but I don't pull through every gear to a 120, its more of a quick blast to get on the highway, or get past some plonker who can't drive.

Stock injectors will be good for shorty and mid length headers with a pulley. Start adding a whole lot more like throttle body and you get close to the top. Add a good long tube header like MBH, ARH..... I don't think the stockers can provide enough fuel.
The mods you are planning will be just fine with stock injectors

The reservoir for a split cooling system is only used as a fill point no fluid circulates in it. So yes you could use that as long as you block off all other ports.

So everything is ordered... except oil cooler, checking prices.
83mm SC pulley, TCU and ECU tune
Frozen boost HE 101
Split cooling tank
E63 bumper, grill and associated parts
Hopefully have the car back on the road in 2 - 3 weeks and see how she runs..
Thanks to Shardul and Gary (suvineer) for all their patience and help, great vendors and sponsors.

Additional upgraded parts
Does anyone make upgraded parts for
1) the upper idler puller (next to the SC pulley) ( no upgrade via search)
2) The radiator, worth having ? ( no upgrade via search)
3) the harmonic balancer ? ( search didn't reveal an upgrade)
Cheers
