Finally.....I'll stop whining. I got an '09 E63 P30

It was a long process, but I finally got a 2009 E63 with the P30 package. I posted a few WTB's on here and even started looking at CLS's, but the stars aligned. I have been chasing this particular vehicle since it was posted on Autotrader around September of last year and finally made it happen. It belonged to a member on here but he didn't post a lot. Out of respect for his privacy, I'll just say thanks AC! Also, a big shout out to Eurogruppe (Steve) who put me back in touch with the owner after a few missed communications last year. Steve is an awesome dude and I appreciate his tip more than I can say, especially since he had every reason not to pass it on, but did anyway. Again, great dude. Thanks, Steve!

On to the car....48.5K miles. Designo Graphite exterior, charcoal/black interior. Still over a year of factory extended warranty left (he bought the extended upon original purchase). One owner bought off the showroom floor (stickered at over $106K; I have the original sticker). The owner was a fanatic. Oil analysis reports, all records from the dealer for warranty work, maintenance such as tranny and brake fluid changes per MB schedule and all receipts for oil and filters as he changed that himself. Conti's with less than 1k miles, 4 wheel alignments, etc. The mechanical condition is outstanding and the cosmetic condition is outrageous. It looks damn near new. I've checked out and driven a number of E's while I was looking and this car is by far the best I have seen.

The only mod is the hood ornament change to flat. All the rest is 100% stock and will likely stay that way for quite a while. While I already have a little of the itch, I am going to resist and leave stock. While there isn't a ding on it and only a small rock chip on front bumper, I am going to give her a few spa days for paint correction/maintenance and full tilt detail to include wheel wells, engine bay and undercarriage.

I can't believe I scored this big. For all those looking: take your time, know what you want, and stick to your guns. Most of all, have patience. I looked for over a year and bugged a number of members here. I gently hounded the owner and kept in touch even when he really didn't seem to want to sell. It paid off big time for me. I know there is the 55 camp and the 63 camp, and I even got very close to bagging two 55's, but got the 63. I am very happy I got this particular car.

And a big thanks to all the members who helped me along the way with advice and tips on cars. You guys are awesome. I've been on a few forums, but this one is a great one. And thanks to all those who share their experiences and insights and make this place what it is. It helped me formulate my choices and I am extremely grateful.

And now...pics.

Congrats looks like a great car. I always had a soft spot for those 030 wheels. Like I tell people, just wait and the right car will come along.

Nice. I have the same color. Only drawback with it is that one of my keyless go handles went again so they have to send it out to get painted, no part number for that color.

Thanks, all, for the congrats. I'm pumped to finally be a card-carrying owner of an AMG E.

Cetialpha5 - Gonna be dealing with it soon. The only thing that was a bug on the car was the rear door handle. The owner's SA had ordered it and sent out for paint twice but was rejected for color match both times. I had a choice to take it as is with the door handle issue or wait until it was fixed. I wanted to get the car in my hands ASAP, so decided I would deal with it in Dallas. I'll see what kind of luck I'll have, but sounds like a bigger issue than I thought.

Hey DJRabbi - you around, bud? I know you got a new Lexus, but you haven't left, have you? I finally scored a P30, just like I whined about. Thanks for your advice and input while I was careening through the process.

That's funny, the same thing happened with mine, they had to send it out to get painted a couple times. First time they said it looked like it was black, like they had screwed up the paint code. The graphite is a 041U and regular black I think is 040U. They still said it was a little off, but I looked at it and it seemed to be pretty close and I had already waited 3 weeks so I just took it as is. The door handle install is pretty basic though, there's a DIY out there about getting it done, maybe about 1/2 hour or less. Oh and I'm also getting the rear driver's side handle replaced again after less than a year. MB does offer a 12 month/12k warranty on repairs that involve parts.
