E55 with 3.06
Planning on shortening the diff. 2.82/2.87/3.06
I seen a post about 2.82 but nothing in the ithers. Anybody running 3.06?
What does it feel like ?

I ran that ratio, it was nasty. The car felt way lighter on its feet and pulled extremely hard. The sotp was very noticeable

Great. Great info. Looking forward to this mod. I m going to go for an used one. They are fairly cheap down here. I could go for even 3.27. I am worried on the top end does it still pull hard and whats the max speed for 3.06? I hope it does at least 300. Really dnt want to compromise 300. Its my pride n joy ��

I have 2.82 and I love it. Second gear pulls really hard, and you can launch using second gear as well.

I don't know guys...

I love the tall gearing on the E55. With the broad torque range it's really well suited. I love doing pulls starting at 70km/h and never having to shift until 130km/h++

I like it too. It's incredible it can perform that well with such a high gear. The lower gear will give you more of the pants and the seat feel. But it may not translate into better times. Personally I can't get enough 80mph kick down
Beats the hell out of any BB Chevy I ever had. Then again they had 3.50+ rear gears.

I am worried it will just die in 5th. With 3.06 i will need 5th at about 160mph and i fear everyone will start catching up. For redbulljunky this could be very different coz he doesnt have any low end torque. But we do. I ll just have to see.
