3000 converter questions

Just read through pages of thoughts and opinions on this UPD 3000 converter. Most of those were from a yr or more ago. Any updated before and after track results of this converter?? I come from the LS world w big nitrous big converter so stalls are not new to me. Just want to see if there's any real track e.t results as I've seen some go 1.5s and 1.6 on factory converter. How would this converter match up to say a 3.06 gear?? Just dunno what the max trap speed would be w 3.06s? Anyone w these mods feel free to chime in.

I love mine. Hell, just driving with this stall is fun. lol

It helped in my mile racing. Between launching better and less spinning mass, I gained 1 mph in my mile trap.

I get the fun factor. But just driving the car is fun. I don't mile race but trying to find out if its worth the $$$ for real world results

What are the changes during street driving? I don't do drag racing so that out of the question. Any benefits on a road course?

Brian I also had an ls1 with I high stall. It doesn't help like it does in an ls Car. You should be able to gain .1 in the qtr. but like you said 1.5-1.6 60's can be had with stock setup.

The Kompressor is always in its power range.

The converter and gears will make it more fun and you will feel it but in the 1320 it's not worth the gain if any.
On a roll a stalled car does have an advantage in lower rpms if it doesn't kick down.

Have yet be able to make full use of it at the drag strip even on 315/35/17 hoosier it won't hold the converter when flashing it. best is 1.61 60ft still spinning. As stated a few times that can be had on the stock converter. I've contemplated pulling it out and going to stock, but rolling but outs are too much fun lol

Anyone ever done a higher stall in a 63 with a .9 transmission? It seems like it needs it much more then a 55 would. On drag radials the best I can manage is a 1.8 60ft coming off the brake as hard as I possibly can. I can't get them to spin off the line if I try. All mods in my sig.

i have this UPD converter and love it... at the track i can stall up and NOT push through the brakes up to about 2800 rpms... the biggest issue with the stock converter was cutting a good light with the drive by wire... being able to stall up remedied all of that...
