manual mode not working after keyless go repaired ?
hello,, i had my keyless go (04-E55) repaired and they re-soldered the wires broken as in the sticky -- but now my manual mode +/- gear shift or buttons on steering wheel want to work,,, could this be a simple connector being unplugged or something gone terribly wrong ? thks --

Don't know the answer to that, but could you help me find that sticky with the broken wire repair. My keyless go quit working.

Should be a simple fix, just backtrack per the sticky.

It looks like that's not my problem, I get a "key not recognized" message on the dash.

If the second, then "key not recognized" is one of the symptoms of a broken wire. At least, it was for me.
It's easy enough to check the wire without removing a bunch of stuff. Just check the sticky.
Attached is larger photo of where the wire(s) break.....

Yea, when the thread was newer, you could double click on the pics and it would bring them up full size, like the one above. I have almost all of them saved full size, so if there are any that you need to see, just ask.

My car is a CLS55 so I think it's a little different. I can't this yellow plastic thing out. It catches on the left side at the bottom, and I can't get the side pieces out. Any ideas??

Yes, that console/sides is quite a bit different. In this photo the 2 screws in the Bosch unit need to be removed.
It shouldn't be hard to remove those sides, however, I just don't see it in your picture.
