'08 SL550 Sport, '11 BMW 550ix M sport
It's finally here!
After nine months of anxious waiting I can't believe it's finally here.
The car actually arrived at my dealership last Tues. but they had my mods to paint & install before I could take delivery. The mods consisted of, Hardwired V1, Lorinser Star grille, flat hood badge, and Lorinser spoiler.
I picked up the car on Sat. and I was just floored with the difference those few mods made to the attitude factor of the car. It looks smokin!
Props to Dr. Chill for the recomendations on mods...he's a man of impecable taste.
Plus props to all the members on this board for making me the best informed buyer my salesman had ever dealt with. With all the info gleaned from this board I was able to always be one step ahead of the game. (well almost always, I didn't get the curve sensing headlights...but at least I know I didn't get 'em)
I was also able to pull off a a surprising feat in that I bought my car at $900 under MSRP. (OK, I'm cheating a little bit. They tried to raise the price again on these cars by $900 due to the poor dollar but I convinced them to stick to their original price).

Thanks guys! I can't believe the bottomless well of torque!! I haven't even mashed the gas yet and I'm awestruck.
As far as the first 1000 miles goes AMG55, I'm running every errand I can think of and some twice. 150 miles down and 850 to go. Honestly, I'll probably start gettin on it a little harder after 5 or 600 miles.
So far no problems at all. I was bummed not to get the active curve sensing lights but when I saw how much brighter they were compared to my '01 BMW 5 series, it doesn't matter any more. (my buddy was in a vehicle ahead of me Sat. night and he said he had spots burned into his eyes from my headlights.)
What a machine!!!!
