Running rich?
Hey guys, so I just got my new tune from EC after adding headers and a heat exchanger with my 83mm pulley. I sent my files into EC telling them my mods, gas type, location etc and they sent me my new file back. Jerry said he set my AFR to 11.7 which from I what I read is right. Well after reflashing it my car started to smell like a lot of gas from the outside not inside. My mpg also dropped significantly. My friend with the same mods as me without a new tune is averaging 16mpg on streets and i can barely crack 11 driving normal. What should I do? Also how do I datalog on euro flash v2 if anyone can help?
Thanks
Thanks

usually when I smell a lot of gas - and if you have secondary cats still in place - usually needs a good run to burn off any collected crap on the converters

You can't know you are running rich without a wideband or putting it on the dyno, the fuel smell could be something mechanical. Check that code out before you go stepping on it

sounds to me with bad MPG that the secondary O2s are still turned on in the tune
maybe use the tuner to read a code, or get one of these inexpensive bluetooth readers

It's the header. Without the primary CAT, if you drive aggressive then you will smell some burn gas. I was in the same situation after having the header installed.

uhhhhhh what?
Mine are still turned on with longtubes, with a cel and I have no issue of poor mpg. Sounds to me like you're just guessing.

Post the code when you read them. Also, check for exhaust leaks forward of the primary O2 sensors if you just put headers on.

Ran the codes yesterday and it said its the 2ndary o2's, might just shut them now I guess

so if the secondary O2s are reporting like there would normally be a catalytic in place it would lean out (not make it rich) because there is no reduction in measurement without cats

Not yet, haven't had time recently, my CEL did turn off by itself though, and the mpg has improved, also Phil is away for the week and I don't want to bother Jerry to much during Xmas, next Monday 100% I'm sending in my logs

Install a wideband sensor, and the you'll know for sure what's going on. I'm about to install dual widebands before the primary cats, just to better keep an eye on things (plus I'll also be able to do remote road tuning).

I had a similar issue with my ec box tune, I got on a dyno and got a hold of Jerry on the other side and he sent files back and forth in between pulls with Powerhaus here in the Tristate. I picked up 45whp and dropped 10wtrq after retune and cutting back on some fuel. I think i was at 11.7 afr as well, can't really remember though.
