ever re-grease your starter and flywheel teeth?
just had that done at the stealership... thought my squeaking startup was the pulleys, ended up being the grease on the flywheel being worn out... affects the Keyless Go as well...
never heard of it before, did I just pay for my dealer's kids Christmas presents?

Squeaking on start-up? Please describe this.
I'm experiencing a loud squeaking until the car warms up, but I thought it was belt related. I haven't had time to remove belts and test, though.

doesn't squeak on startup anymore though - it was a one time 'chirp' on startup
but the keyless Go is what tipped him off - the car would go to start, do about 1/2 rotation and then stop, leaving the 'keyless go' in the ON position - like if you hit it without your food on the brake
just wondered how many others have experienced this...
he said my pulley bearings were good

There was a service bulletin on this. Bulletin AF15.30-U-6405A. Addresses the M112 and M113 engines in the W210 but the issue can apply to newer models. Go easy on the grease as it can interfere with the position sensor.
Grease part number is 000-989-76-51 but it's 2.2 pounds of grease!

next time though, whenever you want to do it again you can do it yourself if you have a jack half inch ratchet and a 27mm socket....

Odd that a road driven car would have issues. I just had to grease the starter on my 4wd, but that's due to it having 200k km and I've darn near drowned it a few times. It essentially filled up with mud, sand and grit.
