i ordered BMC filters for my AMG should i be worried?
I read a thread back in 2012 where a bmc filter deystroyed sommeones car cost $5K to repair. I already ordered it last week what do you guys think I bought it from eBay? anyone have this filter installed in their car and does the car run great? Probably K&N would be good however I like the BMC from Italy.

If I recall correctly, it doesn't have enough support and gets sucked down and let's dirt and debris pass through unfiltered. If your like them, maybe you won't feel badly if this happens to your engine.

It's an air filter. If you're even the least bit worried, don't run it. It's just a filter and won't do much for the car anyways.

This place is a joke.
The stock filter(s) are best and flow good. This isn't a honda or chevy where an aftermarket filter gains 15hp. The stock dual filters have already been designed for maximum airflow.

Great so I spent $145 on two bmc filters from a 3rd party that doesn't accept returns which is no better than the cheaper stock filters. Sad

K&N for the win. Have been using them forever in BMW's and MB's with no problem and they do flow better than stock which equals more HP. Just search the forum as the filter debate has been robust over the years here. I remember the Green filters which I never bought into were hyped but in the end were cheaply made.

I've had good luck with K&N filters but see Greasemonkey's point. The ease of cleaning and reinstalling is an attractive feature for me but the 55 is my Sunday driver...not sure it's worth it. Sorry off topic a bit.

Mercedes CLS55 AMG
Hi,
I used K&Ns on my C43 202 (N/A 55 Engine fitted), didn't quite fit properly, I now use BMCs and find they are better fit and quality in my CLS55, have been running them now for about 8000 miles and nearly a year now with no issues at all, I also have a BMC filter in my Audi Cab which I have covered 30,000 miles and two years again no issues.
Aren't BMC filters OEM for Ferrari?, I wouldn't think they would use sub-standard parts from build.

The stock filters are probably good for stock motors.. As soon as the mod bugs bite then it's time to assist in the flowing of all air, so I would go for aftermarket filters so that the stock ones won't restrict things... I have gone for BMC as well. Getting installed this week.

Thanks soo much for the replys. I ended up installing the BMC along with the Kleeman ECU chip everything else of the car is stock. Took it for a spin oh my god huge difference. I got it up to 196mph = 315kph no problem. I love my baby been had it for almost six years so trust me I notice the difference

I have run BMC's on my S600 for 4 years now. No issues.
K/N's, which I love by the way, have had MANY issues with certain model MB's.
I Know as I have had a refund from K/N
