Quick question from new E55 owner, air ride question
The car is a 2006 E55. After a few days sitting un-driven, the rear end of the car leaks down and squats evenly. I've come to learn from the generous input of the guys on here (thanks!) that this is somewhat common and usually not a big deal, however if it progresses it can place a strain on the air pump if not corrected.
Being the OCD person that I am, I would like to fix it. My question is, if there is a leak in one air spring, would both leak down evenly? In the hundreds of things posted that I have searched, it can't quite come to a conclusion.
I think, if I read everything correctly, that each air spring has a check valve, which would lead me to believe that if one bag has a leak, the other would still hold air, making the car settle on one side only. Mine settles evenly, making me think that the leak is somewhere between the check valves on the respective air springs and the pump.
Does that logic make sense to you guys? Any guesses on where I should start looking for the leak?

various things could be going on. valve block/bags seaping/lines chafed.... if you go to the non amg w211 forum a noob starts a new thread about this every week or so....
however if it sits for a week or so and is slammered then i would speculate so much as to something being wrong. your compressor could just be timing out and the pressure could just be releasing which is normal in some cases. If it happens instantly like a day or hours after sitting there is a issue....

Mine does the same as well but only if I leave in sport 1 or 2 mode. If it's raised all the way she stays put for the week until I drive again. Sport modes drop about a quarter inch a day. I jusy open the car door to wake up and reset but time for a soap test... I am lowered on STAR.

After 10's of hours of research I still have the question of the OP.
