My First Dyno Today!! (Pre-mod)
I'm no auto expert by any stretch of the imagination so I decided to post the results here to see what you guys think and if all seems normal.
The car has aftermarket cats (not race cats), 2nd cat delete, resonator delete, split cooling with small bmw res, new bosch IC pump, and a PLM HE. Other than that, its stock.
Getting ready to install 77mm CSP and EC Mid-length + tune
The pics are of 2 runs both from 4th gear. Second pic is of 4th gear alone. One of the runs was 5th gear only and it didn't so well. I appreciate your thoughts and feedback.

Man, why don't people use smoothing on dyno graphs. Plus having mph instead of rpm is..Ergh..
Anyhow, odd looking graphs there mate! Weird power dips and very very flat.

Not everyone has a factory freak. ,
I made 405whp/ 444wtq on my stock pulls.
Now just wait for the gains after you install your mods

Thanks guys. Sexyxe, I've never dyno'd a car before but thanks for the info. Good to know for next time. What about the power dips and being flat? Does that suggest anything about the car?

Makes sense, it is a 30-150mph run! Leempolo, were you present when the dyno was done? Do you know if it was shifting during the pulls?
Car not in dyno mode? Not in manual?

I don't understand the 4th gear graph. Why are your curves intersecting so early into your pull? They don't seem as "easy to read" as most other dyno graphs I've seen which are nice and linear.
Strictly for visual comparison, mine on a mustang dyno, only 4th gear. I'm not expert though, as this was my first dyno session also, so I'm no graph reading pro.
Again, not trying to compare anything but the curves themselves.
Happy Holidays!

Yes, it was shifting. It was in dyno mode and he had it in 4th gear (not manual). When he punched it, it down shifted. So from the responses, I take it was done wrong? lol

Yeah a bit odd. Car will hold gear better in manual, plus you need to roll into the throttle otherwise when you hit the 'kick down' part of the throttle it will do just that. Not to mention a pull over that long will begin to heat soak and raise you IATs.
I think there are certain tuning programs that can force the car to hold the one gear. I don't know what it is though, and the bloke who did my pulls certainly didn't have it.

My buddy who is from Oregon had his 2002 WRX (non-STi with minor bolt-on mods) dyno'd at 333 WHP at 93 octane (or whatever it was). His car was only boosting 90% of its max.
Because "California gas is of lesser quality", his car had to be down-tuned to meet 91 octane standards. His dyno ended up being 277 WHP and wasn't safe to push any more.
My buddy explained all the science behind it, and i was surprised how much our California gas quality sucks. He's still pretty pissed about losing over 50 WHP
Out of state people can probably vouch for this concept.

I really couldn't say. My present tune is for the 102 octane gasoline readily available at German gas stations. When the car is returned to Florida, it will have to be retuned for 93 octane. Although, it is my understanding that the adaptive ECU software can cover a wide range of octane ratings with the input from the knock sensors. You can reset the ECU octane setting to "BASE" and it will eventually adapt to a safe setting for your particular octane rating.
