Auxiliary battery swapping-any acidless batteries?
Red battery sign -Visit workshop
I read that we need this battery
then I learned that this one is better ?
Now I'm learning that I need to put in the acid myself and then let the battery charge and then put it in the car ? WTF ?
How the heck am I suppose to put acid in whatever it needs to go in?
Are there any batteries that already have the acid wherever it needs to be ? and all I need to do is plug the battery in and Voila ?
Thanks in advance

Also- let's say I go to Canadiantire or Advance auto parts or Napa
What do I say exactly is needed ? Any specific words I need to utter to get this specific Aux battery ?
For example for Main rear battery -I can say CCA needs to be over 850 and reserve to be 170 or better -
What are similar things I need to keep in mind of this Auxiliary battery ?

Step one:
Figure out the problem before throwing money at it.
Step two:
Disconnect both batteries individually and check voltage with multimetre, then load test them with a tester at Napa/Lordco/Autozone.

Question was regarding "types" of batteries.

What Starving said ---- You really can't beat the Bosch battery from the dealer for the aux battery, and you really can't beat the Bosch AGM improved batteries from PepBoys for the main starter battery.

People who were asking me to diagnose this- once again
The car after a drive shows 12.5 reading on the dash and on idle with Heat on and Stereo on shows 14.0 reading.
When I put the car in drive and press on SBC hold - it says "cannot be activated" ---->>> this is what confirms front battery gone.

The dealer is charing $173 for the front auxiliary battery lol
Regular stores have it for like 100$ amazon has it for 67$ damn.
Does that seem reasonable?

That's why most people buy it from Amazon. You might find a local store like Advance Auto that might also carry it. The acid should be pretty straightforward, they just can't ship it with the acid already in there. There are coupon codes for Advance Auto that might bring the price down, check on retailmenot.com, usually some $40 off $100 code is floating around.
And $173 from the dealer is why they're called stealerships and the service department is their #1 money maker.

ok- just put in the new battery.
1 year warranty on it- got it for 110 from local store. They poured in the acid and prepared the battery (first charge) for me -free of cost.
However, I'm still getting the red battery message and SBC hold still not working.
The UB voltage on dashboard goes to 13.8 on driving the car and 14.0-14.1 during idle with heat and stereo running.
Is it possible that due to front one having no power in it-caused the rear one to work overtime and now it'll be a while before rear one gets back to normal
levels and then everything will be okay ? or should I just swallow the pill and go to Stealership to get issues sorted out ??
What happens if there is no front battery ? what things won't work in the car ?
Even when I was getting "Convenience features off" message - my power seats were working, heat was working, lights were working -only thing off was
heated seats and stereo.

What's the voltage when the car isn't running?
You could always take the rear one out and put it on a charger or have it load tested at a local auto parts store.

Why don't you disconnect the main battery for a few minutes then reconnect it.
If there was a fault triggering the battery visit workshop message, even if it's fixed it won't go away until you either do this or reset it with SDS.

To properly check voltage, disconnect the terminals completely and check the battery with a multimetre.
The secret menu voltage readout is accurate, but will not tell you the strength of your battery alone. A proper load test on the battery will tell you it's ability to retain and store power.

OKAY FINALLY !!
I bought Aux battery put it in - I got the same error messages and SBC cannot hold nonsense - Went to buy a new Main battery and changed it- Kept getting same error messages -
started the car with main rear alone- Voltage was 14 with car idle n between 12.0- 12.4 key 1-2 I pulled out the Aux battery-cleaned the wires - re-screwed the bolts -went to start the car - NO ERROR MESSAGES ! VOILA !
THEN I realized maybe I don't even need a new battery -so then AGAIN pulled out the new main battery - plugged in the OLD battery and VOILA no error messages and SBC hold working fine.
Voltage stays between 11.9-12.4,12.5 from key 1-2 and on idle it stays at 13.9-14.
On key 2 - with music system on and heated seats and heater on. Voltage drops to 11.5-11.7
EVERYTHING RE-SYNCED and all- is well now.
Just have to go return the brand new battery now.
Thanks a lot for all that chimed in.
