ULTIMATE CHARGE COOLER KIT

Have even a cursory glance through the forums here and you'll see cooling mods done to death. Some may be contradictory, but a larger HE, split cooling, adding a tank, meth and or a Killer Chiller are the options. Typically done in that order and not usually singularly.

Well. I couldn't find the damn link. Here is the one I made.. looks very close to the one I was looking for. It took me less than 8 hours to make it and install.
I am NOT offering any service.. ever. to make anyone.. anything. I hardly have time to make things for myself. I keep very busy at the shop I work for.

Please bear with me. I have both E55 and SL55. The SL is what I am tuning first. The SL has a 'starter battery' which the E does not. I could build a great I/C tank exactly the dimensions of the starter battery. Can this battery be eliminated?

No, it's for your brakes. E has one too, under the air box. Never popped the hood on an SL so just guessing there.

Thanks again, I am moving the battery to the trunk and getting a tank built to fit in the space. The height means the tank will self bleed. I can ground the battery back there and just run a cable to the front for positive.

I don't see how this will work since to lines that go to it will have to be higher than the tank itself. I strongly suggest you keep the battery where it's at and build the tank where the cabin filter is.

He's talking about a 230 chassis. The cabin filters are under the dash.

In my RHD SL55 the cabin air filter is on the same side as the starter battery. I can leave that intact and still leaves room for a tank. The hoses don't need to be higher. One near the top to take the outlet from the S/C and a low one to gravity feed the pump. I will post some images soon.

you should see around 15 to 20 deg over ambient air cruising no ?,if your real lucky 10 to 15 on a cold day, killer chiller better for obvious reasons ,I went from stock set up ,to extra h/e ,to trunk tank and 4 pumps with a modified intercooler and I'll see 15 to 20 over ambient ,a little better on cold days .

As an interesting FYI (it has been ages since I logged any data in the e55)....My water temp after some mild to moderate driving was 105* with ambient air 67*....So obviously more water + better cooling would be of value....
