Your thoughts

Should I remove the stock airbox intake tubes that lead from the airbox to the front of the grill with the airscoops , they are clearly bottle necking & look visibly restrictive so I'm just looking for her to breath better as I budget for a CAI system . The airbox & air filters are still in place it's just these tubes below I want to remove , let me know if you guys think it's a good idea & if you think it will breath a tad better , thanks !

Yes, your car will love the super heated engine bay air vs cool air from the outside.

Yes suck in the hot air from the engine compartment instead of the fresh outside air. Did you trade in your honda for the E55?

I guess I'll chime in so you get at least one straight-up answer.

Leave them in. They feed cold outside air to the engine which is better than hot engine-compartment air. They may also give a slight ram-air effect, but I'm not sure about that.

Your first bottleneck is the heat exchanger and IC pump, then the tiny outlet of the exhaust manifolds. Next comes a pulley, throttle body, and tune.

Look up S class intake tube to see options for replacing the restricted side, but that is way down the list of things that matter.

Enjoy your hot rod.

get carbon tubes. if u r into modding then do other mods first. not to worry about intake on a 469hp 5.4 v8 kompressor.. you will barely notice anything. just get high flow filters for now.

You could buy another passenger side tube and install on the drivers side. Same deal as the s series pipe. For the price I like the tubes that fab tech sell for 169 The carbon fiber look really cool but are costly. You can find another intake system for 699 or so also.

Company has mixed reviews but give u an idea of most options available

well... I mean you can go to ec ..its pretty much a one stop shop for power mods but you should do it slowly and look for good deal for parts even if you have a lot of money to blow.

depends what mods you are looking for. exterior or power. just search it up... there are thousand of thread on everything ..if you cant find it then just ask.

I did buy a passenger pipe when I was a rookie with e55k. its still in my basement not installed. waste of my time.

the carbon one is pretty and it will cost you around 300. if you want to save a little I would go with the metal tubs that fab tech has. again imho is just for looks anyway...

op. you can get a intake system but imho ...if you want any real power... you need tune and sc pulley at least.. like I said before just some k&n dry flow air filter is good. save your $ for real power adders like pulley or headers ect.

I'd recommend removing that space you type before your punctuation, before I'd remove the tubes.

Remember the over engineering that you already know exists. It's there for a reason. Removing those will increase your IAT's and increase the ability of heat soaking your SC causing it to go into limp mode until IAT's cool down

Sucking in hot ambient air= bad

Sucking in cold exterior air= good
