First question OAT says it is 97 in Tampa
Hey guys,
Did a pretty thorough search on this on the W211AMG and plain W211 forums and turned up nothing.
My OAT displays about anywhere from 20-50 degrees warmer than actual. I know it is pretty warm here compared to the rest of the US right now, but I don't think it is quite that warm
I am thinking if just starting with the sensor as it is a whopping $15 for the febi or $25 for OEM on partsgeek. But wanted to see what you all think. I heard you can change variables in the "secret Climate" screen if you use the right hand controls instead of just scrolling through with the left. Is it possible that a previous owner messed around with those settings?
Thanks in Advance.

Does it change as you drive? Sometimes the air temp may be lower but the ambient temp is higher... Sun baking the road and baking your car could fluctuate the temp sensor until you start to cool it off by having air move around it..

There have been cases where the sensor comes out of its mount and reads wrong. Check that first

got the new OAT yesterday, pulled the fog light grill, sure enough the OAT sensor was laying back under the motor.pulled it forward, went ahead and replaced it since I had the new one. and poked it back in the grommet. I need to get a couple grille clips as 2 of them broke when trying to snap back into place. Temp was much more accurate this AM.

Tampa
Didn't realize there were so many of us in the Tampa area. I'm on Oldsmar.
Let's all meet at the Clearwater drag strip some night. It's only an 1/8th mile bit fun. I'm tired of being the only AMG

Im down for that I just moved here from NYC about a month ago, I don't really do the whole drag thing with my car but love watching some fast cars ripping it down the track. Which one of those Rare Beauties are you bringing the Wagon or the SL ?

I think mine will need a little work before it is ready to hit the track but would still be fun to meet up... to be fair I live in Trinity, just figured most people outside Tampa Bay won't know where Trinity is
