2004 E55 for sale

I have a silver 2004 E55 with 500 miles. Black interior, panorama, parktronic, xenons, keyless go, hands free voice control phone, CD changer, tire pressure monitor, heated/active seats and COMAND nav system, power rear shade.

Had to have the hood and front fenders and bumper replaced. The repair is first rate but I think I want to go back to a CL. How much do you think this car is worth now?

Good question.
Tough to find any data on something like this since damage will vary a lot from one case to the next.
One thing I'd point out, though, is that buyers in a niche market like the one the E55's in, are a lot less likely to bite on a modest price reduction due to accident than buyers would be in the $30,000 range.
I'd think most people looking at a nearly new E55 would pass on a $5000-9000 price reduction (and the given uncertainties about long term effects an accident may have).
Just my opinion, though.

Ouch!! Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to have to let the car go in the low 70's. The repair is perfect - maybe I'll just drive it since it's under warranty.

I don't have any pictures but the damage was cosmetic except for new radiator/supports/intercooler. They replaced the hood/fenders/front bumper and headlamps. Total repair was about 9K. I talked to a guy who sells cars on consignment today. He looked at the car and thought mid to high 70's We'll see........

Maybe you should post pictures of it now as it is to give us an idea of how well it was repaired.

Corgiman, I know one feels something is missing after damage. But the feeling goes away once the car is restored. Just ask Absent.

If I were you, I'd wait a while before deciding. the value will not drop much in the interim. And you might start relating better to your car.

BTW, I noticed someone in Benzworld is trying to sell his 2003. You might want to watch and see what he gets.

Pbglas - thanks for the kind words. I actually gave the car to the consignment guy but I have some time to think it over.

MB Life - If I get a chance I'll try and get some pix. Alas, I am one of the last people on the face of the earth not to have a digital camera. I used to do body work in high school and this is some seriously high class work - you'd never know that the car was worked on. Seeing is believing. As Pbglas says it has more to do with how I feel about the car.

dude IMO you've got an unbelievable car, accident or no accident, if i were in your position, i'd hold on to it, bcs not only was the body work done well, as you say, but its going to take a long time for another e55 with your specs to come in...thats just the way i see it

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
But the paint meter knows...

and the insurance company database most likely knows. More importantly, you know, and if so, should disclose. And I can't believe you don't have any pics. This is going to cost you, just amatter of when. Were you at fault? If not, have you asked the other party's insurance company for a diminished value payment? sorry, but you need to be aware, and best to get the bad news sooner than later.

also, BTW, ....

I got a call on an 04 E55 today with very limited options, and nearly 10k miles on an 04. Seems the dealer's working quite hard to place it, and I passed, even though the number did not have a 7 in it. Thanks again, DC and MBUSA. I'll say it again...too much product in the market! You might consider this if you want out of it ar this point....Just FYI.

Hey Corgiman:
Several questions I have before I make you an offer.
--Rear side roller blinds
--Electronic trunk closer
--Do you still have original window sticker???
Let me know
Thanks

E55 soon - no trunk closer or side blinds although it does have the rear power sunshade. The original sticker was 88,350 - I have the bill of sale and may be able to put my hands on the sticker.

Allejdmb- Uhhh - if I weren't willing to disclose everything I wouldn't be discussing it here! And I had the car towed to the body shop and repaired immediately. Why take pictures of the carcass? To be honest too you can't tell anything about the quality of body and paint work with pictures over the internet ( unless it's really awful ).

Question How much did you sell your car for?

Your 04 E55 sold on ebay for $78,995. Just out of curiosity, how much did you get for the car when you sold it?? I'm sure it was your car because I talked to the sales rep and he told me it had about $9k worth of damage.
