I went to the Portland International Auto Show this weekend and kinda fell in love a little bit with the new 2016 CTS-V:
The numbers are impressive: 640hp, 630 ft-lb, $93k (ok, maybe that last number isn't so impressive...)
There was also a Hellcat Charger there, but it was roped-off so I couldn't sit in it. We'll see what the new AMG E-class looks like when it comes out, but it may have some serious competition when it comes time to retire the E55 in a few years.
that picture makes the car look really big - almost S-class size - how are the dimensions compared to the E63?
I think that's just because I took it from a weird angle. Seeing it in person, I didn't notice it to "feel" bigger than the W211. Not sure on the actual dimensions.
The 2016 CTS-V is indeed 8" longer than the 2005 E55, but the width and height are about the same. Curb weight is 4134 for the caddy, vs. 3825 for the E55.
Went to the AutoShow down here in Houston, TX this past weekend & was impressed w/ the CTS-V also, but the '16 is way larger than previous years. The '16 ATS is about the same size as the old CTS, but only comes w/ a V6 twin-turbo in V-trim. For the price difference I'm glad the wife loves the E63 we ended up w/.

Yes but there are ATS's in the 10's already. They are stout
Sit in an ATS then see what you think about it.
I was really interested until that point.
The new CTS-V is bananas IMO. I really want one bad and specced one out at the dealer shortly before they came out and just can't bring myself to part with almost 100k for what it is. Especially since I'll take it apart within a few months of owning it lol
