How to remove badge residue after debadging?
I removed a badge from the trunk using dental floss. It was easy and quick.
The problem is the residue, it's thick and it's stuck very well.
I've tried WD40 which was apparently supposed to "dissolve" it over time but it hasn't.
I don't want to mechanically force it off and ruin the paint.
Anybody have a good way to get the residue off, it's a pain in the ****.

When I did mine I used one those scratch remover solutions.
It has a real fine grit in it and worked like a charm. I think is was by 3M.

in that order....
1) goo gone, won't damage anything.... might take you a few tries and 20 minutes...
2) eraser wheel, careful you can burn the clear if your too aggressive...
3) paint/buffer compound, worst case because that does take away some clear coat....
and is what you need to do if your too aggressive with the eraser wheel
I airbrush and install vinyl as a side business, so my advice is worth at least .05
If your near Sarasota I can take it off for you...

Another vote for goo gone. It will take a few minutes of working at it, but it will come off. Just make sure you have a clean and soft towel.

I guess Goo Gone is the way to go, isn't it acetone though or something else because from what I can remember acetone is very bad for paint.
How come the WD40 didn't work that well, it usually works well for sticker residue.

What you need is Rapid Remover. Trust me. Spray. Wait 2-3 min. Wipes right off.
Takes any residue off like wiping up water. Vinyl guy told me years ago. Imagine Goo Gone x1000 but actually works like they claim. Course for about $18-20 on Amazon it is $$$ but is amazing.
Also works well to spray over plasti dip and can then just pressure wash right off.
