Tranny fluid leak/ tranny slipped into neutral

Been slipping into neutral on me a few times under uphill acceleration last couple days. This morning there was a puddle in the driveway and again after a short drive this morning. Just bought the car 4 days ago knowing it was going to need work.

What am I looking at as far as potential causes, repair, and damage done to tranny?

It's my first MB so any help is appreciated. Thanks

For others to help you...model and year, can you have someone check for codes? Welcome to the forum.

04. E55. Nothing too crazy or specific. Also as soon as I get more time, gonna look into a STAR.

Don't drive around with low fluid as you can damage the trans. Check the pilot bushing aka 13 pin connector, that's where leaks usually are but a puddle as you say is lot. Get a trans oil dipstick ans see where you are at

That was my concern about causing damage. It's at the shop to get the some stuff done I don't have time to do. The owner/mechanic has an E55 himself. He said he'd check it out. Just trying to get a bit of an idea on what to expect. I'll get an oil dipstick for sure.

E55
best case = 13 pin connector leak
worse case = trans front pump leak

Turned out to be the bottom of the two lines that run into the radiator. I went ahead and just installed an external one. All is well now. Thanks gents.
