Run Today with Tuned Audi 4.0 TT...
Guys,
First run in my E55 today with my buddy's Tuned 2015 A8 4.0 twin turbo. Same engine/tranny as the new S6 (you know all about those). Sorry, no video's as neither of us had passengers to record. For all it matters a video would have been very ant-climatic...
See the link to the #'s on his car according to the tuner but here is the net:
0-60 in 3.52
0-100 in 7.98
60-120 in 7.9
To me these #'s seem similar to a earlier model GT-R (?)...

My car has a 168mm pulley, tune, and headers (grocery list of parts in the mail and as of last week I ordered 550cc injectors and a 82mm TB based on some other folks recommendations).
At any rate; his car is STRONG and I honestly thought I would lose.
We had a few runs from 30 on a closed course. I would consistently jump him and maintain a 1/2 to full car length until until the top of 2nd gear (where he caught me on the 2-3 shift and took me by a fender - honestly it seemed like he would have kept pulling me but I honestly don't know). We shut it down prior to 100. My sense is we may have see-sawed back and forth. There is no substitute for the new technology and 8-speed transmissions. Wickedly quick shifts and always in the power band...
We will roll again and get it "on tape". Also, one of my "mods in the mail" is a TCU Tune. How much will this help me?
Thanks,
TK

All the published numbers for Audi's 4.0T are ridiculously underrated. APR is a rock solid tuning company. I just wish they would sell that engine in an Avant stateside...

I ran one a few months ago, after my pulley and tune, easy kill right? I pulled but it wasn't till 90+ we shut up down at 125 or so and he was at my bumper or close. I went home and googled the car and I was surprised at the power.

APR solid? No Not really, they are all kinds of shady these days

I'm sure there have been some missteps-every company is susceptible to that, but it would be dishonest to base an entire company's product offerings and reputation on one reddit post...

Bigger turbos on the RS7 but basically the same. Tuned RS7 runs 10s. S8 is heavier and as mentioned slightly smaller turbos. I like the Audi v8tt. Wish it came in the rs5

In the FWIW department, several years ago I installed the 6 port SLR injectors which produce a much finer spray mist pattern along with overall increased capacity. The performance improvement was stunning.
