BEST TIMES: E55 w/ RENNTech Boost Kit

I am here at a friend's house and we just finished some interesting runs on my fiancee's E55. Here's the average of the best 3 runs we had (11 runs total, until we got questioned by a cool cop ).

Temperature: 57 deg (registered on combi)
Time: 9:35PM
Timing Equipment: BELTRONICS Vector FX2
Tank: 1/8 full
Rear tire pressure: 21 psi
Road surface: asphalt

0-60 mph -> 4.87 sec (4.62 sec best)
1/8 mile -> 7.23 sec @ 101.7 mph (103.9 mph max)
1/4 mile -> 11.22 sec @ 127.4 mph (129.2 mph max)

Mods: High flow intake, Pulley kit, ECU, 91 octane fuel, modified exhaust.

A bucket on wheels
your 0-60 seems pretty slow for your 1/4 mile time. none the less, the 1/4 mile times are excelent. good job

Congratulations...those are really impressive numbers...I would be interested in seeing your numbers from a real dragstrip also...just living vicariously.

Times sound great. My guess is they would be very different on a drag strip. It would take a lot more than those mods to get that car into the low 11's. My guess us it will be very hard to get under 12 on the strip.

here's someone who did 11.8@118 at the strip, bone stock with drags. I think it's a low 11s car with these mods.

I think you'll find the car to be a little faster from 0-60 and a little slower in the 1/4 on the track. At least that's how it turned out with my G-Tech. My W210 E55 went .2 faster to 60 and .4 slower in the 1/4. My Denali was .1 faster to 60 and .2 slower in the 1/4.

Interesting numbers to say the least. What are your exhaust mods?

i always questioned these personal performance meters......since they are based on acceleration forces, and them needing to be level.....do they account for squat? i'm sure that a car w/ a lot of weight transfer will have a more optimistic time since the angle will cause the unit to experience positive g's (forces pushing it to the rear). what do i know? just an idea.........

That's probably why they differ from the track. They are very consistent however which makes them good for testng mods.

2.35 secs from 60 to 101.7. That's phenominal! That is almost 1g at that high speed! How did it feel?

The run was with a bell computer thingy. I don't think the results can be replicated on a drag strip.

I hate to call anyone a liar but that really sounds like a stretch. 911 turbos that are putting down 600 plus to the rear wheels,hoosiers and world champion driver Cort Wagner driving them are getting low 11's. Something smells fishy. My Buddy ran 12.2 in his sl55 with the same renntech upgrades. I cannot imagine the e55 is almost a second faster. Hey I would love to be proven wrong but I just would like to see some backup documentation.

i ran an 11.80 bone stock with my e55 on radials. if i had the renn-tech ecu and pulley id prob run 11.4 at best with the same conditions. but WITH A 4.87 0-60 11.2 is almost impossible. mathamaticaly. and those computer things are never accurate cause when i used the g-tech thing i ran a 13.2 and a 11.9 take it to the track for accurate meashures

I agree that the 11.2 is not real, however the 11.8 maybe. The run was at 40 degrees F, almost freezing, with drag radials. If your friend was to take his SL55 out in replicated conditions, I think he would at least equal those figures. At 75 degrees the same car would be lucky to do a 12.2, even with drag slicks.

I still think 11.8 with those conditions would be a stretch. 11.2 no chance.

Agree,with high 4's 0-60,getting E55 to below 12s in a quarter is physically impossible.(unless this car has something like 750hp)

Sorry, but I can't swallow the 60-100+ in under 3 seconds. No way, no how. That is race car fast, not E55 fast.

With drag radials sub 12's is no problem from a car with pulley kit, even in 75 degree+ conditions. I ran a 12.2 with 19" Pilot Sports, climate control on, in 80 degree F conditions. This was with a faulty TPS and without the ECU being tuned properly.
I have got to go back, but am confident of an 11, even without drag radials on the standard 18" rims.

Just take note that those figures were produced by an accelerometer device, not an actual drag time slip. Accuracy is obviously a question. It's all for reference.

Yes, the numbers for the 1/4 are at least 1 second too fast for the street, even with extremely cold conditions boosting power. The debate has now moved on to it being impossible for an E55 to beat 12secs without 750hp, which is demonstrably wrong.

You misunderstood my post:
I said,it was impossible to get below 12 in a 1/4 mile if your launch
sucked(high 4's,in the example above at 4.8s 0-60)
