Red face DONT HAVE A CLUE!!!!

Ok fellow members gotta problem....
my 2009 e63 started to run rough one day as i left the house. Of course i panicked and turned around immediately. After asking indee what it may be,he said to start with plugs and coils. Ok did that and still not better, went to local parts store where they scanned it and it came up with (2) o2 sensors bad bk1 sen2 and bk2 sen1(long tube headers so no cats) and misfires in cylinders 6,7,8. Cleared the codes and car ran strong and normal for about two days then back to limp mode.Took it to the indee, he cleared the codes as well. this time after we ran the car HARD for about 45 min. ...flashing eng. light and back to limp biscuit we go. Anybody ever had this happen and if so what direction did you take? also taking any suggestions on what it could be... Its getting warm on the east coast and i NEED TO DRIVE THE BEAST!!!

This place is a joke.
Keep wasting money by throwing parts at it...or pay someone who is competent to properly diagnose the car, whether it be the stealership or a competent MB indy shop. Those are your 2 options. The internet is not going to fix your E63 AMG for free.

Misfires on 1 bank. Figure out which bank it is, change the front o2 sensor for that bank, and see what happens.

The code is right in front of your face. Your secondaries are going to be the ones effected by your longtubes. It's obvious you have a pre-cat sensor thats bad.

E55
My E55 would throw itself into some weird limp mode with reduced power, but oddly enough power to not really notice under normal drivinng(no CEL). Turned out to be a lazy O2 sensor

IF you just put the headers in I'd check to make sure your O2 sensors or harnesses did not get switched up.

Correct me if I'm wrong:
engine light steady on = fix it.
Flashing engine light = stop driving NOW cuz you're going to hurt the engine.

No. Flashing check engine light indicates a misfire.

My car is experiencing a similar issue to the OP's. Only fault that was stored was for RH MAF sensor. Installed the new airbox lid w/MAF sensor and no change. Indy shop has a cracked version of STAR and the latest update from them is that it's still running rough (rough idle, exhaust popping continuously above idle) with no reported misfires or further faults, no CEL. It's a head scratcher. I know it's a shot in the dark but any ideas? The car will start and run, it just runs like total ****.
