Very nice video !

It will help a lot of people so much.

I always thought you needed Star for a brake job. People are trying to charge like $400 just for the labor.

Nice video! Great timing too - I plan on doing mine tomorrow.

One question, if anyone knows - I bought OEM rotors and they have some kind of matte gray coating on them. Do I need to remove the coating or anything?

How difficult were the two large caliper bolts to get off??

Did you break them open with an impact wrench and/or cheater bar?

Leave the coating alone. It will come off almost immediately once you take it for a drive.

They were pretty tough, I just used a cheater bar and lots of force.

Thanks! I did them on Saturday. Hardest part was breaking the rotor free which was rusted to the hub.

I ended up having to soak the hub with atf/acetone mix and then shock them with a sledge. ATF/acetone worked great on the caliper bolts too - soaked for 15 minutes and was able to break them loose with a regular ratchet.

Seriously, mix up some of this homemade penetrating oil - 50/50 mix of Acetone and Mercron Trans Fluid. 10 minutes later, it breaks free with a standard ratchet. Can't believe how well it works.
