KC + Tank - I/C = Awesome or Stupid?

I'm thinking about installing a Killer Chiller and having a tank made to replace the H/X.

My understanding is that running a H/X with a KC just puts more heat back into the water because it is still below ambient when it comes out of the I/C, right? So the optimum setup is to run KC -> Tank -> I/C.

Has anyone replaced the H/X with a tank? Seems like it would work great for race day, and daily driving any time you have the A/C running. But what about daily driving when you don't have A/C on? It obviously wouldn't be optimal for that, but it wouldn't be any worse than when the pump is dead would it?

Can you have the KC turned on while the cabin AC is off?

Looking for feedback...

My setup is trunk tank, KC, meth, no HX cools great. I never turn the air off but climate in the Bay Area is such that I can always leave it on. The only hiccup came up on rare winter nights of cold enough the AC compressor would shut itself off and so the car would run hot on freeway pulls but that's been maybe two nights in 4 years

KC > IC > tank > back to KC

You want the coldest water going immediately to the IC.

NO HX AT ALL

Have talked at length to joe Kincaid about this and this is the best way

That's my exact setup and I see 20-30* below ambient daily.

Has anyone ever had a custom tank made to go up front where the H/X is, or do you all just run trunk tanks?

best solution is a single electric valve that lets you bypass the HX. Then use simple controller to open/close the bypass when water temperature crosses HX temp.

Would be pretty cool because the HX would be a reservoir that is automatically cooled off.

Wouldn't running a K/C post H/E pre intercooler be better? H/E would already lower coolant temps going into K/C. K/C would cool even more???

Is there a vendor on here to buy from or just go directly to Killer Chiller.com?

Go directly to joe Kincaid at www.killerchiller.com

Don't use a HE with a KC period.

If you set it up correctly with good flow and a tank no need for a HE and would actually negate the KC
