WEAR ENGINE PROBLEMS M156.983 . And their causes ( aid)
W211 E 6.3 AMG...
Much has been said about the factory marriage engines ( m156.983 ) on vehicles already with low mileage to 100,000 km. And less .
but there are cars with a mileage of 200,000 km or more in which there were no problems with the shortage of oil , engine wear that could be the cause ??
what reason is common to all engines ? which were broken .
Your recommendations to avoid engine repair !?

The two major M156 problems are head bolts stretching/breaking and lifter buckets wearing (including camshafts). There is a low chance that these will happen which is why some will fail and some will make it to high mileage with no issues. Replace the head bolts and lifters and you will have no engine repairs.

What do you think ? Now I would be better to replace the bolt heads and camshafts , or is it too early Pts ? mileage 31.000km
I do not know what should be the sound of the engine AMG E6.3, but it seems to me , it sounds as if it is not normal for him ....
noise ... tick tick tick tick or sound like a frequent clicks

Sounds like lifters, someone else will have to comment as to whether that is normal volume or not. Camshafts are expensive and may not be worn. I would not replace them unless they have obvious wear. They are about $800 each. Certainly replacing the headbolts and lifters would be worth considering and inspecting the camshafts at the same time. Does the noise go away after a while?

One of my headbolts broke and all headbolts were replaced by the dealer. The repair included replacement of the lifters also. No more ticking at cold start up in the morning but after sitting in the parking lot for a few hours there is a very short less than one second rattling then it goes away . They did not mention any damage to the camshafts

if I have to change pushers and bolts head .... what code parts ?
They must be taken from the engine SLS (m159)?
what advice the dealers?

The updated M156 lifters will be fine. They superseded the earlier ones. 1560500225. Headbolts are 1560160769. ECStuning has all the parts. Your dealer should have a bulletin explaining what needs to be changed. Be aware they will want to remove the heads which is time consuming and expensive.

The ticking sound heard in your video is probably lifters.
I had my lifters, camshafts and head bolts replaced recently. Here are some pictures.

The original bolts have a female torx end which is inherently weaker. Combined with corrosion as they sit in the water jacket they are prone to breaking. The revised ones have a male inverse torx- see in the picture above. Yes new part numbers from what I understand.

I don't know for sure but I suspect the coating on the outside was updated to protect against this. Also be aware that you can replace one bolt at a time without removing the heads (much cheaper, less parts and time). Some people will not agree with doing it this way but several people have done it.

Now how to choose the pushers .(lifters) .... with the head of the bolt is now all clear .... ) which lifters are suitable ? those that are installed on the W212 e6.3?

Any lifters from any year car with the M156 should be fine. All the new part numbers would have replaced the older part numbers for the previous poorly designed lifters (which hopefully aren't even available anymore). If you are worried then the last car with this engine was the 2015 w204 coupe I believe.

I think my car is necessary to establish pushers .... with low mileage , I doubt there will be a defect camshafts . My car was in the garage for a long time , therefore, a bit run, it is not good for the engine ! I think so (

is your oil level correct? As in run engine to operating temperature (oil temps at like 170 degrees F) if i'm not mistaken... let vehicle sit for 5 minutes then check oil level.
It's possible lifters are noisy but first oil level should be correct. If it is looks like you'll need new lifter as said previously.
My suggestion, if you need new lifters, get ARP head stud bolts.....

camshaft wear may begin because of the poor state of the bolt heads and lifters ! ?

1) you can make a small report about the replacement of standard parts on SLS parts that were installed during the repair ? Spare parts list (from SLS)
2) and which parts have led to deterioration of the engine as a result . ;-) Thank you!!!!!

I assumed the sls and updated c/e63 lifters are the same thing. I believe the part numbers are the same.
Updated oem bolts will be sufficient unless you are supercharging and 1/5 the price of arp studs.
