I just had an oil change done my E55 and I went with the Redline 5w40. Car felt like it was making more power but I am not sure if its from the oil change or the cooler temps or because of the new Bosch 010 pump. Oil was a lot more $ than the Mobile 1 I got on sale last week.

so is motul 300v better than redline or redline is still king? i heard of the ester core on 300v is quite nice and might be better

They are little different 300V is really designed for track use maximizing performance with very short drain interval around 3K KM because it don't have that much detergent as other oils

Redline are designed for longer OCI and better suitable for daily use compare to 300V.

if you don’t care about cost and the short OCI
go for the 300V

i do heard people mentioned that avoid using additives and fuel cleaner when using ester based oil that can cause sludge to build up.(I really don’t know personally)
Also ester works by creating a natural bond to metal it self so can conflict with how oil additives works.

so if im doing oil changes at 2000 or 1500. would redline be better for engine longevity or 300v? I just use my car to daily but jt has 17ts. 208k miles. I use redline 5w50 becuase 5w40 always came out like thin after drain. and 300v doesnt have 5w50 on fcp euro for me. the cleaner the engine to longer that head gasket stays good imo

Can't speak for 300V but have used Redline at every track event along with Mobil 1 normal driving and the bearings looked like they came out of the box brand new. The Redline for sure has better quality when talking with the reps at Redline and will have a higher thickness, "W" to it when hot according to their spread sheets on it.
