New motor mounts... again
The part # everybody sells is corteco 220-240-27-17. I read on here once that the corteco part # for high hp is 80001089. I believed it because I destroyed the 27-17's within a month or so.
Yesterday I put the 1089's in. The box said volkswagen on it somewhere so that was not encouraging. No big clunk when I stomped on it, that was refreshing.
I should have ask before I bought them, but does anyone know anything about this?

It's funny, i just received the same exact parts from Autohaus AZ and they swore up and down the corteco part (not 80001089) would be an exact fit for my car, and they warranted it for two years. I went ahead and did the install this past weekend...huge difference in feel, but my gut says they won't last the full two years. The 2717 part fits all 55 engines, whether normally aspirated or not.

the 1089 part number is twice as much as the 2717 part number. There is probably a reason for that. Just because they fit, doesn't mean they are the right part. I remember when I went looking for mounts for mine the genuine MB were only $10 more than the febi or cortecos from mbdirectparts.com (a dealer in Nebraska). Since I was ordering a bunch of other MB parts at the time it actually ended up being cheaper for me to add the genuine to my order than it was to pay separate shipping by buying febi or corteco elsewhere.

Hey, thanks for the feedback guys. I am feeling better about it. What a pain that was. The one on the drivers side dumped brown hydrolic fluid all over me getting it out. The tranny mount is not very old. I was finishing off a set of tires and getting bad wheel hop, tranny mount cured it. I hate to throw rear tires away with any tread on them!
