Need help!! Which arnotts and rear shocks to buy?

Trying to order up some new Arnott air springs fromt and rear, decided to change the rear shocks too.

Which ones do i get? Does anyone know if the e500 shocks with semi active dampening same as E55? Or if it is dampened differently?

Just got this message back from ebay seller.

Can anyone confirm if these are the correct arnott front and rear? they have for w211 and another listing for 200 dollars more for CLS55 E55 AMG. The heck is this guy talking about? LoL \

First he says if I have performance package on my E55. I didn't even know they had a performance package. Then I get this after I tell him No PP.

"New message from: partscontainer Top Rated Seller(336,655RedShooting Star)
Dear Sir,

The parts in question will not work for your vehicle as they fit different vehicles. Your vehicle was manufactured in 2005, this is for 2006 onwards.

Unfortunately, the set made by Arnott won't be available for your vehicle."

The heck is the difference from 05 and 06 E55 airmatic springs? I thought all 2003-2006 E55 use same air springs anyways and CLS55 and E55 use same setup.

This guy is confusing the heck out of me. Who can chime in with facts?

What about the rear shocks? I found these. Will they work? Or any other recommendation?

Sellers says E500 CLS550 E55 E63 all the same?

Oh ok, I thought you were asking if those could be used instead of the arnotts.

Yes those are fine for shocks

If bags or struts are leaking then you need what I posted

Hulk is right. Shocks are not the same across non-AMG models. I saved a few dollars and went with the Bilstein B4 option instead of going through MB.

The part number you should search for is A 211 326 27 00.

This is what came up using your part number on ebay.

How much should I pay for a pair of good working E55/E63 shocks?

Found this new? Doesn't seem cheaper. No idea how much they should go for.

I do not know what the shocks would go for on the used market.

You can get the Bilstein shocks for under $400.00 each, or opt for the MB option (same part with the silver arrow logo) for about $450.00 each.

Also as backup sourced a low mileage set of air springs and shocks, but the little hoses that attach to the bellows that sit above the rear axles have been cut (as explained in the arnotto diy) appears the arnotts dont use them..

If the hoses are cut, Is it hard to reattach new hoses from the original rear air springs to the bellows (reservoirs)

I'm sure it takes a high quality clamp to reeatch a new hose. Where do you source them from? If the originals hoses were cut off? How do you reattach them?

Thanks for all the help.

Arnotts don't use the reservoirs so you don't need to reattach them

ya buddy, the pther set is full factory airmatic with shocks low miles no leaks.

But the rear hoses have been cut going to reservoirs. I imagine they need to be reaatached so how do i do that?

the factory clamps looked like permanent ones. So what doni do?

You can get crimp style clamps through Mcmaster carr, but a regular hose clamp will give you plenty of clamping force. I'd be more worried about the quality of tubing.

Clamps will work unless he cut them flush with the airbag
IMO go with arnotts simply because you don't have a headache anymore since the air reservoir can go bad and then you are back to buying a reservoir and having to take the whole rear off to get to those

holy cow i was worried about that, gotta drop the rear end to install factory style rear bags? Daamit so arnott rear it is. I'll just pickup the Low mileage fronts as backup and new Arnotts to replace my bad left rear air spring.

Rears look straight forward to install arnotts but is there any special procedure to install the front air springs? Anything to watch out for?

Cut back the Air line and reuse the origiinal fittings? Clean out connector plugs?

Thank you

Nice thanks

Do I need to clear the code 5502 i got for height calibration unsuccessful after install of new leaking air spring? Or will airmatic fault light on the dash clear on it's own?

Nobody really answered in my other post why I got that code 5502? Or what to do to resolve it? Does changing the leaking air springs resolve that? Somewhow I doubt it.

You can clear it but after a few key cycles it won't matter
