New E55 Estate Owner

Hello everyone, I wanted to introduce myself. Proud new owner of an 05 e55 wagon I just picked up last weekend. I love the car already and am excited to keep it for a very very long time.
Car has 45k miles and is absolutely stock and I plan to keep it mostly that way with some OEM+ style mods.
A couple of questions -
I really wish my car had a rearview camera and bluetooth. I now both can be added but is their a way to add them without changing the head unit (or maybe using the euro head unit)?
On my RS4 I used the OEM hardware from a Q7 and recoded my RNS-E unit to think it was in a Gallardo to access the rearview camera software (Gallardo was only VAG car to use both RNS-E unit and come with rearview camera).
So can the hardware and software from any other MB work with some modifications?
Same for bluetooth.

Also, I will need some new tires fairly soon and have read some of the discussions about going up slightly in size on the rears. I know Super Sports can run a touch wider than advertised, is anyone running 275/35 Supersport rears and have any issues with them?

Thanks and happy to be here

Looks like the backside of a 2.3-16 Cosworth.

Congrats and welcome! For bluetooth phone, pick up the MB bluetooth puck - provided your wagon is prewired for it. For music, viseeo has a bt adapter that connects to the ipod connector (if your wagon is wired for it).

I'm not aware of any OEM solution for rearview camera...

Great car. Have had my 2006 for a month now and love it! It's a twin to the one in this factory photo:

Thanks guys. Watched your auction closely Frank but wan't ready to proceed at the time. You got a nice one.

Tail end in the pic is actually a 2.5-16v. The 2.3 is in the garage.

I don't think my car is pre-wired for the bluetooth, no wires or dock under the cup holders in center armrest. Does this mean the puck by itself won't hook up to the oem system without some auxilary wiring?

I just got my all weather mats and trunk liner, going to add some clear bra to the rear trunk area and get some new tires.

Planning to keep stock size up front and run 275/35 PSS rear. I thought 285s seem too big for a 9 in wheel.

I'm also considering to get some seat covers because my seats look to nice and fresh and I'll be putting kids in the back. Anyone have any recommendations? Most likely go with some sheepskin like ones unless I can find something else that looks ok.

The OEM MB bluetooth puck requires prewiring, so yeah, it isn't of any use to you. And that would only be for phone - it does not support A2DP.

For our Recaro booster seats, I have car seat protectors underneath - something similar to
Amazon Amazon
.

The Bluetooth puck docks up in the very rear part of the console behind the cupholders and it stands up vertically. Look for a small cap back there for the wiring.

Congrats!

I used a Tooki in mine for bluetooth phone integration. Works just like factory ... but I have had a couple of times when it's been "glitchy".
