Installing TC

Need to find out how much other people paid to get their TC installed. Just bought a 3k TC. My mechanic is quoting $900 to install. And if anyone knows who does good transmission work in DC , MD area. Thanks.

$900 sounds reasonable honestly

Install of the Tq Conv is pretty easy... It's the removal of the Trans that is the hard part.

$85-100Hr X 4.5hrs x 2 for removal and reinstall of Trans is where that math is coming from.
Plus fluid ($60 ish)

Go for it and bite the bullet. After replacing my own Trans and wishing I did the Tq Conv upgrade then...spend the $ It's $900 that's well spent to not wrench it all yourself.

IMHO

Yes will do that as well. I tried to search for a post someone have posted that it cost him around $350 or so to install it, but couldn't find that post now.. Just want to make sure I'm not paying too much for the install.

That's not a bad price at all!

The rear main seal is not a lot of work actually once the trans is off

Its the curing time that is the problem and the car is just waiting on the lift for the seal to cure

Tuning for the TC or something else, bcos EC told me I do not need any tuning for the TC.
