Going to try to make it to the event next month to check this **** out.
I had designated which wheels to change tires on and which ones to simply flip the direction on for the tire shop. Forgot to take it off.

It looks Spool-icious!

For as many times as I've heard of people doing this, this is the first time I've ever *actually* seen it done.

Probably won't hurt 1/4 times, haha. I'll probably end up doing that at some point for ****s and giggles. But not before doing a grip event early next year.

Same here. Have heard about it for as long as I can remember but have never seen one done before.

I have a strict posterity-documentation policy but not everyone is quick to showcase their ugly welds, especially with limited access like this.

I drove a V8 S-10 back in the 80-90s. Had the gears welded in the stock rear (nothing to lose being a 10 bolt) and it was tough on wet pavement making a turn.

That's what the thinking was with this one: it's the early 215 housing, might as well give it a chance to experience true glory before it is discarded or sees the end of days.

I have done this to some of the potato head ricer's around hear and can tell you going around a turn will be VERY interesting to say the least !! Not good for any deviation from a straight line down the road.
Will make for great drifting though !!!

Differential is back in. Shimmed my rear springs correctly, put the suspension back together.

Next up swapping all brake pads to EBC yellow stuff.
After that finishing the manual horn relay switch project.

And after all that: shakedown!

Disagree. I think they would appreciate me letting their child live out it's days in full glory as opposed to letting this car die a boring and underwhelming life living in an executive's garage.

I think they would be amazed you found a way around all the BS they put on these cars! 😁
Keep the updates coming.

I actually haven't run into any problems, surprisingly.

Let's see, some findings from tonight:

1. ESP + Welded Diff
I actually haven't run into any problems, surprisingly.
WELP! Hahaha, this was expected but the car doesn't like slow corners with a welded diff, the ESP module throws the flashing triangle and cuts power (or applies brakes, whatever). So gotta turn that off.

2. Welded Diff = Ratched
Again, to be expected, but if you're not used to it, it's weird. The car is surprisingly drivable on the street still. It's not the end of the world.
It only a pain in the *** when the car is slow, at any spirited or above-speed limit scenario turning unloads the inner wheel just enough to make it less of a pain.

3. EBC Yellow Stuff
Still squeaks (yes I applied the grease on the backs of the shims and the sliding corners, but let's talk about bite.
Amazing. Changed the brake pedal and the lever. One of the best bang for buck mods I have done to this thing. So much better than OEM, it's mindboggling.
Makes SBC fxxkwithable.

4. Horn
Wiring directly into the relay worked when I gave one of the coil pins +12V and grounded the other one directly instead of trying to piggy-back from the fuseboard.
This cute little guy glows red and is fun to use. I am considering upgrading to a more fun sounding horn though. Any suggestions?

Superflo, HE, Secondary HE, and a bay tank would do nicely

Ended up with with a 2L dualpass intercooler, updated 010 pump and split plumbing. Doing great after those.
