I went out to this today. Didn't really get to talk to jumph4x aside from saying hi when he was in the staging lanes. Saw him make one run at the area I was watching from. They had drifting going on at several different spots at the place.
I was hoping to get a ride in my buddy's car (1998 328i that's been converted to a ute) that was running there, but he put it into the wall yesterday and was still working on getting it going today.
I did not expect watching drifting to be fun. Holy ****, I loved it and it was worth the $20 for the 2.5 hours I spent there. I'll be going to more of these events for sure next year.

It was cool to see you for a split second today! The event wasn't very well organized and I spent way more time waiting than driving. I prefer the usual Wednesday nights we do there to this large clusterfxxk faux-festival thing. But it was still a good time. I was busy for the last 50+ hours and barely had a chance to do anything, sorry for not finding time to kick it.
I ended up being escorted from the staging lanes before tracks went cold today for... *drumroll* pissing coolant.
Putting that much stress on the driveline gets the motor mounts to flex, which brings the service belt pulleys much closer to (or in my case directly INTO) the FMHE reservoir

No worries. I could tell you were busy doing your thing and I wanted to watch some cars anyway.
When I was going back to my car I did notice 2 W211 E55s and a W211 E63 parked together a few rows away from me. Wondering if it was anyone from here.

I've seen an E55 come through on a Wednesday for drags. But that's about it. A couple of people talked to me about my car that also owned E55s yesterday and today.

Yea there is about 4 e55s that consistently go out to the strip. I talked to you a little bit. Clean set up on yours. I keep the 55 for roll racing and 1/4mile but now im starting to get into drifting and building up a ls swapped fc rx7. It looks like so much fun but I know i'll probably hit the wall a few times learning

Just stumbled across this thread. What an incredible build! You really went the extra mile on preserving the original systems. Color me impressed.
Once I've got the remaining issues sorted on my SL55, I'll be heading out to Sonoma regularly (I'm in Berkeley, so I'm fairly close). I look forward to seeing you there!

Every time I look at that brake lever it reminds me of Terminator, love it.
I'm not a drifting, slide around the track guy, but reading and watching your YouTube about the journey with you and the car is awesome!
Keep it up!! Looking forward to more

Next episode around the corner - footage from Winter Jam 2017. Between the holidays and a snowboarding trip to France, my timeline got funked up for a hot second. Soon!

Chamonix was gorgeous! The Cornu run is the perfect incline, openness and predictability. Really ruined Lake Tahoe for me.
Maybe I'll post my snowboarding edit here for you as well, haha.

FCP Euro is actively moving in that direction, but it might take some time because those people are extremely mindful of attention to quality. Both the supply chain and the actual product that ends up being sold to customers.
For FCP Euro, to offer a product for sale is to endorse the manufacturer and the fitment for the car.
By the way, have you seen this? https://blog.fcpeuro.com/fcp-euro-en...allenge-season
They have just entered into a partnership with LIQUI MOLY and 034Motorsport. Will be running two TCR GTIs in the Pirelli World Challenge, after having just completed an AER season in their C300!
The latter is one of the most reputable VAG tuner shops I know of, met the people, toured the facility (my daily is a MKVII GTI).
In any event, my sponsorship includes more than what's being sold via www.fcpeuro.com, we have a wonderful working relationship. I've known the people at FCP Euro for almost a decade now.
I wouldn't agree to a deal like this and put my name on something if I didn't believe in the people and the business 100% (no comment about VRP, haven't interfaced with them). If you ever have a chance to meet/greet/tour I highly recommend.
