Finally got a flexfuel kit for my e55 from Dave at eurocharged, pretty simple kit, took me about 30 minutes to install. (Would have been quicker if I took the intake off first)
If you followed my other thread, you'll see all the fueling mods I've done to be able to safely and effectively run this setup.
Upgrading from 550cc injectors to 630cc over the weekend, I'll then have a basemap from Tony and a full tank of corn!
Driving to Atlanta to get dyno tuned by Tony on 06/02/2017. Will have 10 gallons of e85 with me, and will be doing back to back comparisons from 93 octane to e85, without adding timing or boost for e85.
Dave and Adam of eurocharged assured me that I will gain quite a bit of power without tuning, and even more with.
Looks like I'm the guinea pig!
The injectors are not included in the kit
Put this into my return line
Moved the ground from this location to the one under it with a ground already connected to it
Definitely can't wait to see how it does. In the CTSV world, cars gain around 30whp w/o tuning and I think I recall one car gaining 90whp. Don't quote me on the last figure though. It's more common to see 50-60whp gains from e85. Gas mileage is worse but e85 is cheaper than 93 in my area.

We shall see! The kit is a little pricey, so as long as it's worth it, I'll be stoked. Glad to hear someone else has seen this happen, as most are very skeptical

I've seen it in N/A cars as well, specifically the Coyote powered s550 model mustangs. Those guys gain 20-30 whp with a tune. Obviously I'm just throwing out anecdotal numbers that I've seen online but it's not unreasonable to expect 50-60 whp from a s/c'd v8.

Well, I won't be adding timing, or running higher boost than what I am. Atleast not for this test and any time soon.
E85 is at the pump in walking distance to my home, so I would love to use it on the regular, and not have to change my tune.
I have my Zeitronix ZT-2 box in the ECU sealed box, it's worth a gander to clean up your ever filling engine bay lol
Are they EV1 connectors or EV14? Just curious what comes as far as wiring. It would be awesome if I could ditch my adapters lol
Dave makes them to fit whatever you need. I have ev1 to ev14. No adapters anymore as this harness replaces them.
Also, you can have them hooked up and unplug the box and still be fine, they're straight through.
it will be interesting to see the difference with a ecu tune vs plug and play,if there is a big difference then there are no need for a flexfuel system, thank you for your great threads an for beeing our guinea pig!

The ecu never sees the flex system, it simply adds enough fuel to equal the same amount of fuel to match X amount of air.
So it increases the injector pulse to supply more fuel for e85 as you need more when using it over 93. So you will need the flex kit, because it allows you to change back and forth between e85 and 93 without adjusting your 93 tune
That's a flex fuel sensor you installed. Those measure the ethanol content of the fuel and adjust accordingly between two or more fuel maps in the ECU (usually pump and E90).
Purely lambda based flex fuel tuning is not ideal as target lambda will vary across fuel types. I usually like to see .8505 - .8705 for pump and .7145 - .8600 for 85% ethanol.

i understand that the flexfuel system only add fuel in % depending of e85 content, and if you want to change fuel often a flexfuel system is a +(instead of flashing ecu)
i found Another interesting flexfuelsystem in Europé(Finland) it use an external tempsensor to aid coldstarts, priced at 449€($500) https://eflexfuel.com/en/e85_ethanol_conversion_kit

If I'm not mistaken, this control box has that built in to it
The system does not have a temp sensor, and does not have trouble starting until temps get very low... sub 35-40 degrees. Not sure about the other box.
They sell adapters for 3/8 barbs on the ethanol sensor to -6an so you can connect to your braided lines. I'm assuming you are using ptfe lines?
Yea I am, being as it's the return line and lower pressure, it would be fine how it is. Can't see it once it's shoved down behind the intake anyways lol
