W211 E55 AMG secondary heat exchanger/duel intercoolers
hey guys just wanted to make a quick post detailing the installation of a 77 mm pulley and most importantly the VRP speed crash bar mounted intercooler. I have not seen any other write up on MB world about this intercooler, nor was I able to find any information online. It's about $250 and it adds another 1 liter of cooling and works in conjunction with your stock AMG intercooler. I wasn't paid by them to make this post I just thought it's a really cool innovative idea that they came up with that is very well manufactured and fits neatly under the hood. You could go out and buy a 2 L intercooler from a bunch of different manufactures but then you're left with a stock AMG intercooler that is not being utilized.

Yes LOL. I have scoured every single Mercedes-Benz forum trying to find someone that installed this and have had no luck. I created my account exclusively so I could bring this to you guys and so you would not have to go through the same pain of trying to fit this in as I did

yes I will definitely have to do that. At this point I can get one or two good pulls in with the new pulley before the engine starts pulling timing, since it's the stock intercooler. My intake air temperatures are hovering around 85° When cruising which is about 20° above ambient, and I'm hoping the secondary heat exchanger will bring them down by about 15° !
I can also hear a very faint supercharger wine around 5000 RPM with this pulley. I'm going to fabricate my own intake and see if it can amplify it 😁😁

Wow nice find, such a pity it's only for W211 without distronic, but definitely data log, would be interesting to see the difference.

You need a Shardul belt wrap kit with that 77mm pulley. Mine was slipping even with one so I modified it to give even more wrap. The 'dust' you see is from touching the tops of the pulley bolts with a file which were just 'clicking' with the edge of the wrap kit pulley. No slippage ever now.
