Coilover conversion complete, need to get rid of warning light

I just recently completed my conversion from airmatic to BC coilovers.

Everything was perfect, just need help trying to get rid of the warning light on the dash . I'm getting the "display malfunction". Also, after driving for a while my Traction and cruise control also get warnings, I'm assuming it's all related.

I've tried searching, but can't seem to find an answer. Can i just pull a specific fuse/relay and the warning will disappear? Or do I need to take it in and get the programming switched over from "airmatic" to "coils". How involved is that process?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!

No program from air to coil's.
I would think you must have damaged an ABS line or sensor because traction control is not effected with coil overs.

There were some connectors in the rear wheel well that probably weren't put back together correctly. My conversion (Arnott) came with an over ride for the suspension error screen. Not sure how BC gets around it.

search the forums there is large fuse that you have pull off to kill the light on the dash. He did his conversion in the parking lot. he shows you which fuse to pull

When I installed BC coilovers on my 04 E55 I used the Star system and changed the coding. It will need to be changed in the instrument cluster and central gateway. Very simple if you can find someone with one.

This is exactly correct. Even with STAR it took me a while to figure out there are two places to code it out before the message goes away. Even pulling the fuse didn't clear the message until I hooked STAR up and cleared it from the instrument cluster.

I figured I'd stop back by this thread and list the actual steps required in STAR to disable the warning message on the instrument cluster. I've done it a couple times now, and the last time I took an extra few seconds to write down the steps:

First, turn off airmatic for the car by following these menu items:

Control Units
Body
System Diagnosis
Control Unit Adaptations
Read Coding and Change if necessary
Programming of Vehicle Equipment
Set AIRMatic = NOT FITTED
Press F3 to save the change
Press F5 to send it to the car

Second, disable AIRMatic in the instrument cluster:

Control Units
Information and Communication
IC - Instrument Cluster
Control unit adaptations
Modification year or model year (not sure if this matters or how to know the right value; I guessed based on manufacture date of the car)
Variant Coding
Special Equipment (Wait a few seconds for all of the values to be read)
Set Partial air suspension to NOT PRESENT
F3 to save
F5 to send it to the car

That's it! No pulling fuses required and now you shouldn't see any warning messages.

Plan to track run it is the reason it is so low. But still rides great with the bcracing coilovers.

I was reading a lot about coil replacing, but what is bothering me is a stability of the car on corners, since this cars don't car sway bar, right? It's possible install sway bar between strut in engine, but it would make too stiff, and would lead to premature suspension part wear.
or I'm missing something ?

The E55’s do have sway bars. The only real downside to coil overs is he lack of on-the-fly adjustability. I’ve had mine for about a year and I’d never go back to Airmatic.

Did you need any other parts for the conversion or just the coilovers alone

When I get to the :
Second, disable AIRMatic in the instrument cluster, I can click all in green but when I get to the first red line (Modification year or model year....) doesn't show up. I have an E550 2007 W211.

Control Units
Information and Communication
IC - Instrument Cluster
Control unit adaptations

Modification year or model year (not sure if this matters or how to know the right value; I guessed based on manufacture date of the car)
Variant Coding
Special Equipment (Wait a few seconds for all of the values to be read)
Set Partial air suspension to NOT PRESENT

F3 to save
F5 to send it to the car

Any ideas?

Did you find a solution to this? I’m currently having the same issue. Seems like it doesn’t work for the facelift models

Legendary.
Now to find this for the W212
Probably the same or similar
