Acceleration Nation 2 Fastest Production Cars

Article on the 8 fastest production cars in the world. E55 (8) and SL 600 (5) made the list. My only complaint is the times for the E55 were 12.89 at 115 and 0 to 60 in 5.06. All the other cars performed according to recent road tests so I don't think the weather had much to do with it. Before I modified my E55, I ran consistently between 12.5 and 12.6.
E55 12.89 at 115.8
Gallardo 12.53 at 116
Corvette Z06 12.53 at 115.38
SL 600 12.48 at 117.42
Porsche 911 Turbo 12.39 at 118.43
Viper SRT-10 12.07 at 120
Ford GT 11.69 at 122.74
Saleen S7 11.51 at 127.38
Overall a great showing for MB. Carrera GT, SLR and Ferrari declined the invitation.

According to the article, all models were 2004s. They are all faster than the 2003 models. I don't know about the cobra, I read somewere that they were 13.2 cars but I could be wrong. Interesting note was that there was a large paragraph devoted to the Audi RS6. It stated that they spend a lot of time trying every different way to get a sub 13 sec quarter and could not. I think the best was 13.3. The way I read the piece, it kind of implied that unlike most of the other cars in the test the advertised horsepower rating for the RS 6 might be inflated.

I think he has not yet done any mods to his father's E55 yet.
His Cobra is crazy fast though. He took me for a ride in it. That supercharger is LOUD!
